those are pretty funky! would be slightly better if they could be straight though, but I'm impressed nonetheless.

Nice job!! The 1st one shows the colorful dash, and outside coloration best, IMO. Pretty cool that you were able to stay still long enough to get the foreground fairly crisp, while the background is very distorted. That's my vote.

I really like the idea. IMO, mount that camera so its flat, zoom in a bit so you cant see your head (throws off symmetry), put your hands in proper driving position, get that speedo up to a reasonable number and you'll have a picture worth framing. Now that I think about it, a 15s exposure would be great from a dead stop since you would see the motion blur of the speedo and tach in the pic.

Thanks for the suggestions.

There is no room in the back w/tripod mounted to see in the view finder. You have to use "live view" but the issue is that it's dark. Getting level is not easy because you are at a very bad angle trying to look at the screen. If I zoom somewhere from 10 to 22 (cutting me out), it also cuts the window and dash out. I would almost have to put the camera more behind the right seat and farther back. My mount won't stay secure. The final challenge is to "guess" at the f stop and shutter speed. f5.6 to 8 for 8-15 seconds usually works. My car has tint so It's a little darker inside. The street lights play havoc on this as well. RAW lets you mess with some of this, but grain starts to become a factor after awhile.

My left had actually is using the corded remote. This is feed behind the headrest and over my left shoulder. You can't use it and then move your left hand without blur. If you put your right hand in proper position it blocks the light from the gauges.

The best lights come from smooth side streets (40-50) that have cars that can pass and building lights. Highway speeds tend to cause photos to get "jumpy"

The only issue with 15 seconds and sweeping needle is that 15 seconds w/SSTT puts you well into the 120's and the surface streets I was on. I have shot a few 0-60's and slowed but there is a "jerk" when you try to maintain speed at 60.

These 6 represent around 120 shots.

Actually that is a bank parking lot with lots of lights. Turn to lock and roll out at about 5 mph. I then took the shot. I went around in a circle for 15 seconds.
