MHD Logs
Can anyone please look at my logs, I feel that there may be some issues. The idle bounces when coming to a stop and I feel there may be a boost leak but I'm unsure. Any help or insight would be appreciated
https://datazap.me/u/raw422/log-1683...og=0&data=4-20 https://datazap.me/u/raw422/log-1683...og=0&data=4-20 I am FBO running stage 2+ 93 octane I have new coils and colder plugs, and just replaced a fuel injector that went bad Edit: Some new logs https://datazap.me/u/raw422/log-1683...og=0&data=4-20 https://datazap.me/u/raw422/log-1683...og=0&data=4-20 https://datazap.me/u/raw422/log-1683...og=0&data=4-20 Last edited by Raw422; 05-08-2023 at 05:39 AM.. There was a lean code but never came back. Just fixed a vacuum leak that took care of the bouncing at idle. I still feel like I am low boost. Here are some logs from this morning

These cars are known to suffer various issues related vacuum leaks. If you found one vacuum leak already that was clearly affecting idle, chances are there are others that aren't as obvious; like at the boost control solenoid (or anything else not keeping the wastegate properly shut). You can find several posts where N5x owners replace all the vacuum lines as regular mx. |

Thanks!
If boost is low, is there any correlation to my wastegate position? Is there any way to tell from logs if there is a boost leak causing this or is the turbo just getting tired? Any specific things I should be checking? |

I would start by looking for more vacuum leaks, the lines are not that expensive and many people just use aftermarket vacuum hoses that are rated for high heat (silicone). The boost control solenoid could be bad and not properly controlling the wastegate position (not sure if this is in MHD logs or not). I would also check all your electrical connections on the topside of the engine since the load req/accelerator appear to bounce together. There may be something wrong with throttle body/drive-by-wire/valvetronic. |

I did a quick search for you, my money is on the valvetronic system

One post in particular says something about it getting stuck in the low-lift position, thus restricting air flow. I can see in the logs that vanos looks to be functioning, but not sure if that also covers valvetronic (variable lift). If it isn't a vacuum leak affecting boost control or the solenoid itself, it seems like the vavletronic system is the only other thing that could limit air flow to spin the turbo... so I guess my checklist would be: 1. vacuum leak 2. boost control solenoid 3. valvetronic |
