Mine actually broke off when I was trying to get the hose off so I had no choice. Once you drill and tap and install a brass barb its bullet proof and you can run 1 hose with no adapters straight to the bov. Definitely more robust

Porterfield R-4 and R-4S brake pads shipped!!! Now I should have solid brakes on the track and enjoy the car just that bit more

Were the EBC yellows not quite doing it for you on track?

Another attempt at my rear window fix last night. This time with 3M VHB tape. What a PITA this is turning out to be. However, after finding out that the 3M refuses to stick to the fabric properly I ran a bead of superglue in there as well and clamped it overnight.
Closed the roof this morning and it seems to be holding. We'll see how it fares in today's 90 degree heat I guess.
Lumpy cold start is back again. The refurbed injector lasted about a week before it started happening again. Does anyone think this could be because I haven't coded the DME with INPA ?
I want to put MHD 2+ on the car but I'm seriously worried it'll expose so many issues that I can't reverse by removing the tune. In the process of buying a house so new injectors and coils aren't exactly high on my priority list right now.

Not quite. They ended up fading pretty good (very long, soft pedal), but fluid wasn't boiling and rotors had an appropriate amount of pad transfer on them, and pads themselves didn't look glazed. I'm going to do one day on them at Shenandoah again to see if it was the pads or just the computer making the pedal weird since I hadn't coded out ALL the nannies for the last events.

A few days after that, I'll be down at VIR for the first time, and that's a track that (reportedly) demands solid brakes...

Keeping an eye on weather as it doesn't look very good right now. As it stands, we'll be leaving the King of Prussia area around 8am on saturday. If the forecast stays it's current course, a number of us won't be going. No point driving two hours in the rain to go to a car show in the rain. Shoot me a PM if you're still planning on going and we'll see how things progress through the week

Very possible, but I believe the symptom would have been displayed right away if that's all it was, not after a week. I'm not, generically speaking, a fan of rebuilt injectors. Give me virgins. (whoever said Miata is always the answer... )

More tune will always expose weak spots- that's basic rule #3 I think...
Fix all the things you can find, add tune then fix all the new things you find which were triggered by the extra stress, but would have been fine for years if you didn't tune...

Yeah, the rebuilds were just a stop gap until I could get something better. It's weird though. Injector 6 failed so I put in a rebuild and it was ok for a few weeks then started getting rough idle on a cold start. I lived with it for a month or two then bought another rebuilt injector and swapped out the old one - same thing happened. OK for a week or two then rough idle at cold start again.
I went into limp mode after some WOT and got VANOS codes plus a misfire code in #6. That was on the first rebuilt injector. The second rebuild hasn't "failed" that way yet, just the rough idle.

I'm kind of at a loss short of buying all new injectors but as I'm buying a house that's a large nut to have to find right now. Car has plugs with 6K on them and I swapped coils around so it's probably not that.

I'm probably walnut blasting this weekend and depending on time will code the #6 and maybe even install the tune.

In 500kms i would have completed 10,000 kms since my last major service (plugs, filters, all fluids, oils etc).

Since i put around 4,000-5,000 kms on hot highway and track days (10 rounds on Gp track and 7 rounds on Nürburgring) and an additional very hot 42c mending session, i guess it is safe to change the oil now, despite the OBC stating another 25,000 kms. Also the weather is really hot anyways, fresh oil and filter would do no harm no?

By all means!
I suspect more than 90% of the folks here are changing engine oil at ~5,000 miles or so, which should be ~8,000KM's, give or take a few. With track days in there, earlier the better as well.

Best way to learn how long you can run between changes for your driving environment, and engine health, would be to send a sample for a UOA report (used oil analysis). In the states Blackstone Labs is probably the most popular, not sure who would be good over there...

I saw those - only three of them. There's a set of used 11's that I'm getting. Figure it's worth the risk. Seller says he ran stage 2+ with no issues. Low post count so I'm a little wary of that but he's been around for a while. Looks like he was pretty much FBO then totaled and bought the wreck from the insurance to part out......just like I did with my Mazdaspeed6 before raising enough cash to buy the 1'er

So the 11's will need new seals. Does anyone in here have a seal tool kit they could loan me while I replace them ?

Be careful. I saw a few scams recently. Be sure to check his other for sale adds.

Jumped on a for sale post with someone wanting to get rid of his recent air ride install due to selling the car. He wants a stock suspension trade plus cash. Hoping I can go air ride soon!

Yeah, he's not got much activity. Kinda makes me wary.

So, what's the worst thing that can happen if I flash stage 2+ on my current set up. Injectors fail and I limp home ? If I then revert to stock map will injectors work again or "is the damage done" per se.
I have everything ready to go for the tune, just haven't pulled the plug.

Been a good week for me. After having them sitting in the shed for about 18 months, I finally got my catless downpipes installed and flashed to stage 2+. After picking the car up and taking it for a test drive, I noticed it was spewing smoke all over the place upon deceleration. It was so smokey that it was actually embarrassing.

I put it down to just being completely catless but the amount of smoke was staggering. I was fearing the worst that my turbo seals were gone.

So last night I installed a new PCV valve hoping that might be the issue. After driving it for a day, I didn't see a single bit of smoke. Finally something went my way with this car. It must have just been a coincidence that I started getting smoke the same day I installed the downpipes.

While I was doing the PCV, I also put in a couple of new boost solenoids and it made a dramatic difference to how much waste gate rattle I have. It's still there a little bit but it is nowhere near as prominent as it was previously.

The car is now running the best it ever has in my 2 1/2 years of ownership.

Yesterday. Wrapped up a 900 mile round trip with my 6 yr old son in my 08 128. Feeling confident in the 98 degree weather after recently installing a new csf radiator, hoses and drive belt. Only issue I had was my radio working only when it wants to. Have to get that figured out. Still enjoy road trips in this car after 10 years
