E90 / E82 Door Handles Interchangeable? Comfort Access
Hello, I wouldn't post unless I hadn't already spent 3 hours trying to find an answer online. Thank you in advance.
My comfort access driver side door handle stopped working in my 08 135i. The passenger and trunk CA works fine. I've found a E90 Comfort Access door handle in the same color code for sale. Are they the same? Different part numbers, but I've read this era of BMW's all uses the same handle. Will an E90 door handle fit an E82? |

Familiarize yourself with realoem.com. Looks like your door handle is 51 21 7 207 555 and E90 will not fit.

Yes, I looked on realoem and found differing part numbers, but some members mentioned all the handles are the same, just wanted some experience if anyone had any.

Thank god for this post. I saw an e90 handle for sale as my CA stopped working on passenger side and handle was in same color but figured I'd check this to be sure.
I hope OP got his fixed and thank you for asking and to all the replies on this |

I never got it fixed, haven't found a CA 135i handle on ebay in months. Not sure what to do. I saw one video of a guy taking the whole thing apart and re-soldering wires, but can't find it again. Did you find a solution?

My driver door CA isn't working. These things seem to break on a lot of people's cars. Not sure I'd buy used.

I've gone back to flea-bay and have been searching as well to no avail. I'm now looking for part out cars to see if I can get one and paint it myself if need be. Luckily the drivers side is working. It's a bit strange though I replaced the CA module after mine had been water damaged, and for maybe a day both handles were working, and then it seemed like the passenger side stopped. I'm going to disconnect the module and then reconnect to see if it does anything. When I wash the car and water runs on the passenger handle sometimes it locks and unlocks and it doesn't seem to be heating up ever so I'm at a loss to be honest. Give me a shout if you figure yours out! M |

I checked the website and found they have the door handle for about usd 250 with CA https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...bC1sNi1nYXM%3D I guess if you can confirm it's the handle / antenna assay and nothing else then it might be worth bitting the bullet and paying for it. Or maybe wait until they have a sale if you can live with it not working for now |
