Chirping sound under hood?
I tried to search but the search function isn't working on the app.

Raise your rpm slightly, if the chirping speeds up with the revs, probably a belt or pulley. Also should be fairly easy to track the sound. Belts are up in front between the block and the fan.

The front and rear main seals are known to make a chirping sound when the PCV valve has issues, and or the seals are failing. Might look into that as well.

Could be a pulley. Does the chirping happen with the AC on only? My e36 does this and it's a broken bracket. Also, $450 sounds steep. I did the belts/pulley/tensioner on my e90 for under $200 and it took 10 minutes. Not sure what would be different on the e82.

That clip sounds like a bad pulley.

I have the same noise, N55. I replaced, tensioner, belt and all the pulleys and the noise is still there... grrrr. Dealer tells me its cause of OFHG leak, replace OFHG and OFCG and another new belt. Still there.
I thought it was a seal, but the videos and description don't really match my issue as far as I can tell. It's pretty frustrating, gonna have to make an appointment with the dealer, again. lol

Did you get rid of the sound?
