looks like its time to say goodbye to my 1er

As much as I love my 135i vert I am going to have to let it go. Only had this one for 6 months. Was told last week that I am going to need to have three seats in the back now. Looking at going to an M5 for the space. Has anyone moved to an M5 and what was the impression after the change?

too big man! it will feel like a boat after having a 1er. if anything look at the F80 M3 IMO....or an E90 M3 if that's out of budget? Both should be fine for 5 peeps.

I went and drove an M5... its a beast but soooooo big. Going to look at an M3 and see if there is enough room. The M5 sounded amazing though!

Depends on what your wife is driving, how big the other children are and how long you plan on keeping the new car. The M5 may not be as tossable but the trunk space is huge which is very convenient for a family of 5. The 3 series back seat is bigger than the 1 but I still cant see having a baby seat and 2 other kids in it.

The 5 only sounds good cause they push V8 engine sounds through the speakers. Still depending on space it might be the best option.

argh... I drove a new M3.. loved the car but it just isn't big enough. Bought my partner an X5 last year so she has the room.. just not me... have thought about keeping the 1nr and getting something cheap to run the kids around in.. but I don't think that we need 3 cars either...

all the issues are from her having another kid.. now if I could just find the bastard that did it I'f give him a piece of my mind

You have priorities you have to deal with. It's a difficult situation.

I'd keep the 1er, change your identity and move to the Outback and manage a kangaroo farm. Those wide open roads would allow you some room to open the 1er up a lot more often.

(Just kidding )

Do a cheap lease? It can be the catch all car where you don't really care about the kids dropping their trail mix on the ground ect. When mine gets a bit bigger (and there will probably be another one sooner than later) I am just going to lease one of those new Jeep Cherokees ( saw a pretty bad ass trail one). Not huge but tall enough where getting a car seat in and out won't be too bad. Also, when the wife goes over a curb, pothole, shrubs, neighbors flowers, it can take it. And it's not embarrassing to drive.

Isn't it a 10 cylinder?

Good luck, I hope the trade in value is better in Oz than in the US.

V10 was only in the E60 M5 and the only M5 to have it. The current, F10 M5 has a TT V8. If I were to get an M5, it would be the F10 M5.

My friend had one for a while. The E60 M5. I'm no hypermiler, but that 6 MPG makes it hard to ignore...

Thanks for the education. I thought they were v10s. See how much I pay attention to current BMWs?
