Question about Remus quad exhaust

Hi there, this is my first real post! (but I'm reading since quite some time) :-)

I own a 2012 E88 manual with M package, which has cp, dp, ic, and mhd. Next, I want a quad exhaust setup!! :P

I really like the Remus quad, but there's one thing puzzling me : on their product page, they say:

Quote:
Not for M sport option!
Remus quad product page

Anybody knows why they say this? Is it related to the diffuser? Is there really an issue fitting this exhaust on my car? I bought an ebay cf quad exhaust diffuser to prepare for the quad setup.

I wrote to Remus to ask the question a while back but never got any answer, I thought why not ask here, someone may know :-) Anybody with an E88 and a Remus quad setup has anything to say?

Thanks!

I tried to attach a pic of my car to the thread, lets see if it worked :P

I think that might be the one for the 1m, which originally comes with quad exhaust. I've not done a quad exhaust myself, but I believe you'll also need to do something with the charcoal canister and maybe the battery holder thing? I'm sure there are threads around here on installing this.

Thanks for you answer! This is definitely the one for e82/e88, not for 1m (which would have a narrower spacing between both exhaust sides).

Here's another link where we can see it installed on various 135i : Remus quad

I still haven't been able to find the answer to my main question tho, why do they say

If someone has ideas, please post!

Your link doesn't work because that Modification Bargains site is banned. But anyways, I think that it might just be a translation issue. I imagine they wanted to say something to the effect that this wouldn't fit on the M-sport edition (or really any "stock") diffuser. But either way, a bet a call to them would probably clear it up?

Got an answer, which confirms the hypothesis of only being a diffuser thing! Here's the reply I got:

Quote:
Thanks for your inquiry. The system is a quad tip system and for the right hand side tips we offer a cut out template for the standard diffuser. You trace and cut out the right hand side to accommodate the tips. We do not provide this cut out for the M Sport which is why the site indicates not for M Sport.

You can purchase an aftermarket diffuser that would accommodate the quad tip set up.
Sometime later this summer, my E88 will have a nice quad setup

For sure talking about having to modify your diffuser. I run Remus race quads with carbon fiber tips on my M-sport e82 no prob. Instead of cutting the Oem diffuser I went with a quad carbon fiber diffuser as well. Works/fits 100%. No worries bout that

Enjoy it! Love mine!

I've been able to clean it up this morning, a lot better! The rear lip isn't fixed yet, but I really love it the look, completes the rear look perfectly in my opinion!

Thanks :-)

I've been surprised by the sound, I was expecting it to be louder but in fact, it is not! Its deeper and more "refined", and it losts all the raspiness it had before. I would even say that its a little quieter at idle! The first thing my gf said when I she heard for the first time : "it sounds more civilized".

I was already hearing the turbo whistling quite well from the back, but I hear it even more now, which is awesome :-) Btw, apart from the remus, I have a vrsf 4" catless downpipe.
