So, what happens when you buy crisps at the bottom of a mountain and then take them 2544 metres high up?

Wow!!! This explains the inconsistency of some of our cars going up and down the all time. From low oil level to emergency warning but without any ODB2 reader errors. Alexander_Sebastian CruzM3

Also happens with shower gel, shampoo, etc. Never take full bottles! Otherwise they can explode in your bag

Thumbs up

We started our day 8 with a sensation of mixed feelings. Happiness for the all experience and tour we had over the last week and sadness due the end of the tour was getting closer. Nevertheless we look forward for a great day and crossing fingers that the cars can keep doing the astonishing work that all have been doing during this such demanding tour.

Day8 - 288km [Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany ->> Arenenberg, Switzerland]

Awaking up in style! Amazingly the police officer approach me in the gas station and was stoked with our cars and ask me what was going on so many bimmers around.. So i told him about the tour and he was really cool with our thing and just felt sorry to be on duty i guess otherwise he might want to see the cars from close Who knows a BMW fan? For sure!

V10 Showtime

Was time to day bye to CruzM3

After FernPass we decide to stop a bit at Hahntennjoch area!

Another stop down the road.

Let's stop to eat here. Food was good.

B58 power

Let's get ready for the last pass of the tour. RuppenPass

and we arrive all in one piece and our cars the last hotel for the tour...

Last dinner with the group.

HGT'22 was a fantastic experience for me and I truly believe for all those that have made part of and we can't wait for the next edition that will occur for sure with HGT'24 and a possible lighter HGT'23. Thank you for watching and I hope that this somehow can inspire some people to do this fantastic and unique trips.
I'll be uploading more content including pictures from other participants and some videos over the next days/weeks.

Thanks again and see you soon somehow somewhere Ciao

Ciao Italia

Was time to say bye to mjn77 after so many cool days with so much leading the convoy towards challenge corners and tricky situations! Thank you very much for being our front eyes on the road! Really appreciate it as it gives extra confident for those that drive behind.

We turn back to move towards Switzerland and we stop at SelvaPass for a few more pics

Food food!

and we move towards Garmisch...

Time for?

For sure time for a beer!

Dinner time!

Wow. Wow. Wow.

Wow!

What a freakin' awesome road trip. Color me gobsmacked. So. Many. Passes.

Been through and near a lot of the area (2000), but I wasn't in a BMW. I took very few pictures. I missed the Euro Delivery era. What a dope. I would sure like to make it back there again sometime. What a great experience.

Couple of questions: Did you all know each other, or just a few of you with some new tag alongs? How long were you driving each day? How did you get everyone out of the way at each place so you could park all your cars in a row?

Any chance you can put a name to a face: joao.toscano Alexander_Sebastian mjn77 CruzM3

Again, spectacular job. Color me jealous.

By the way. You could have used some more Porsche pictures. That looks like a fabulous museum. So much history. Stuttgart is on my list.

Perfect description mjn77! Thanks for that!

Regarding some of your questions and correct me if i'm wrong Malcolm aka mjn77

I knew Alexander_Sebastian (not his dad!), Oliver, Alex Martin and Antonio aka CruzM3 in person. We've been doing some events over the last years. Most of them in Netherland and Germany. Here's one post that shows a bit of us also at Welt - here's the link.

Malcolm, Richard and Alison (Richard's wife) we just been in touch through the social networks. Actually we've all meet from the social side of the things. Namely because of the car club i've started 4 years ago. That community grow globally and it's currently with over 17.2k members. I've the honour to meet so many great people and fantastic cars since that first day that it became from a hobby to something that it's truly part of my life. Bimmerpost has been since the day one i registered a fantastic reference for anything that comes to bimmers and the eternal Dackelone was my first source of inspiration for the tours towards the mountains and some of the best roads of the world. Gather a reasonable number of people and cars and move forward with the right planning and enjoy this moments at its best.

So we started planning the Alps tour from a closed chat. With help of all involved and guidance of MyRoute App and doing a draw over the map about what could we achieve for a trip of 7-9 days. In between the 200-300 kms per day. It's tricky because this amount on roads like mountains can take several hours more than on regular roads and we never know unexpected blocks, issues with the cars, or closed roads, etc. So we adjusted always ourselves in a a way that in case of one impediment we could have alternatives. In the end that was what happened and we just adjust accordingly to the availability of the roads and of everyone/everything. Not to mention the weather factor hoe much counts and can impact our choices/routes. In the end we manage quite well. Lovely experiences! Some a bit scary In general 5-6h per day of driving (for sure!) and with the mileage calculated accordingly.

The time we planned the tour was great! In regards of low traffic and most of the passes fully open. At least the ones we planned. In the end i guess we cover 13 or 14 passes and that was great! Only Furka was closed the last segment if i'm not wrong. But seriously! It was heaven every single moment! I love it badly and even my wife (the only co-driver as well Richard's wife Alison) did not make issues as I predicted! Well she complained but she got used! I think she liked actually but i do know if i would be alone in the car somehow my drive style would be slightly different! The guys also were enthusiastic and that is perhaps what distinguishes driving alone and within a group!

Not sure if this answer your questions! I keep thinking that you will be a perfect driver to join us in one of our trips!

Awesome. Thanks. Lots of logistics to work out, that's for sure. I wouldn't mind getting back to Europe some time. At least I've been in the Alps. I think there is a Scottish road trip in my future. Norway looks interesting.

Funny you mentioned you might drive a little differently when the wife is not in the car. Who doesn't??

Scotland trip must be the one and only NC500 here

Yes Norway we start a thread about it - still long way to go but it's somehow necessary ... Here!

Regarding the wife's presence .. It's more than welcome and sometimes more than our only third eyes for the driving experience ... but yeah would be cool to be on my own on some of the trips!

Day 3. Driving the Susten Pass🇨🇭. In 1818 the first stretch was opened and only 100 years later the entire pass was complete.. Driving this pass makes it crystal clear why the Swiss Alps are a paradise for driving enthusiast from all over the world. The road reaches peak on 2260m🏔

Enjoy ... coming more soon
