Some of us prefer enjoying the performance of the car.

I am at 62k km (almost 40k miles) and I am on my forth set of tires.

Yep. That's why the Germans call All-Seasons... NO-Seasons... bc they are too much a compromise then don't do summer driving well nor winter driving.

You really need summer tires and a winter tire set(s). Which reminds me... it's almost that time for year to mount my winter tires!!

Well, your perspective is kinda skewed since tires tend to get harder and more noisy with time. And seven years is a lot of years. The most accurate comparison would be fresh RFTs vs fresh non-rfts.

That said, yes, run-flats are crap.

Lol! My latest RFTs were not 7 years old. I have been putting run flats on my car for the past 7 years since I bought the car new, and the latest RFTs I took off had less than 6000 on them when I changed them out to the MPSS.

I’ve only put about 4,000 miles in my AS3 and still love them. Great grip, ride nice and are quiet. Can’t ask for much more.

Curious what were your previous tires? For comparison's sake.

Track day today. MPSS grip well on damp pavement but surprisingly better in rain and heavy rain.

Just made the switch from Michelin PSS to Michelin AS3+. I hated making the switch but I have a car to drive for Winter and did not want to let my 135i sit because it would have had summer rubber. I know it's a compromise but I could not deal with being super careful driving the car with summer rubber in Winter temps.

Michelin PSS are the best tires I have ever owned on any car.

Bought a set of used 264 wheels off of a forum member here and mounted a set of Bridgestone Blizzak WS80s. Allows me to run the PSS' on my 261 wheels. Best of both worlds.

I actually like the 264s better than the 261s. How about you?

Initially I agreed with you. But after having time with both on my car, I've grown to like the 261s better. But with the available options of factory wheels, I like the 313s the most. Had I thought things through a bit better, I would have not purchased the 264s and purchased a set of 313s making the 261s my winter wheel package.

Of the three I like the 313s the best as well. I have them on my car now. My first 1er had the 264s, my 2nd and current 1er started with the 261s, then I switched over to the 313s. Love 'em!

I have PSS, nearly went with AS3's because they are a better made tire. this is hard to explain and easier to demonstrate when tires placed side by side, AS3's made more like a Michelin should. PSS is a great tire and more committed as you state, cost less for a reason.

not sure i understand. the PSS are incredible all around summer tires. they are all about overall, strong good weather street performance. They are as good of a tire as Michelin makes, IMO (not including the new PS4S which i am planning to get next). As far as i've seen PSS are more expensive than AS3....
