Folding Rear Headrests
I find them both functionally superior and aesthetically pleasing.

They are very pleasing indeed.
I'm assuming such pleasure comes at a price... ? And those sunshades... very opulent touch of luxury. Been looking for both of those items to no avail. |

Hah! Sold my first set at a mildly depreciated rate of $51.50 shipped (5150) when I picked up a "like new" set, with case, for $20.

They're just something I spotted on RealOEM some years ago. I like that they provide better rearward visibility (I'm short, so they're especially good for me when looking over my shoulder) and that they are a unique accessory, at least there aren't many in NA. I see them pop up on Ebay from time to time (mostly UK and black), but never in Boston Oyster. The black ones (P/N 52207246697) are listed as fitting E90s as well as the E82/81/87 and 04-08 E91, but the Oyster P/N only listed the E82. I have no idea why.
On RealOEM they are located under both "Seats">"Rear Seat Headrest Restraint" and "Retrofitting/Conversion/Accessories" > "Retrofitting Rear Folding Headrest Restraint". I entered the P/N (52207288803 for Boston Oyster) on a few domestic BMW web sites and ECS only to have the part "not found". I ended up purchasing them from Schmiedmann.

Yea, not cheap. In black, you may have better luck finding them used.

That's certainly an option, but in my case I want to preserve the "full functionality" of the car.

Won't the "alien heads" from the E90 fit? Seems like these are usually pretty universal fit.. might be a cheaper, less-rare option.

Nice subtle upgrade. I dig it.
I also dig the sun shade screens. I managed to find a used rear one in excellent condition for a great price, but it didn't come with a case. It's been sitting on the bed in one of the guest rooms for months. Willing to pay top dollar for a full set in nice shape with their carrying cases. |

Ah, I didn't see that. I've sent a bid for a couple of center-folding ones for E90s so I suppose we'll see what good I can make of them.
I'm also in this grey interior, but your car really makes it look like a decent color.
