CDV Delete: Issue with Removal

Hi guys, I'm new to the forum and yesterday tried removing the CDV from my 130i (N52).

From the videos I've watched, after removing the metal retaining clips people seem to just yank out the CDV. The problem seems to be that when I disconnect the line, the CDV remains attached to the wrong side.

In the annotated image below, I'm finding that the CDV remains stuck to "Section 2" (I can easily separate it from the hose "Section 1").

Does anybody have any tips for how to get it off?

Thanks heaps!

Mine just pulled straight out of both fittings. Maybe a little more effort is required next time you give it a go.

Hmm, that's odd. I pulled as hard as I could, used grips and everything.

Hammer it a bit. Maybe there is rust that has bonded. Shake things up.

Spray a little wd-40 and let it sit for an hour and then try again.

Edit: obviously don't hammer so hard it will bend the metal on the line.

I remember it being easy as well. The CDV inserts into part #2 pretty much exactly how part #1 inserts into the CDV.

PB Blaster would be better than WD-40, it's made for jobs like this, but I'm on board w/ the idea and not trying to nit-pick the WD-40.

Rotating the part might help break it free vs. just pulling on it.

I'm assuming the squeeze pins from both sides of the CDV have already been pushed out?
