so you are saying OEM pads is not good enough? I am thinking to change the Motul 600 brake fluid and upgrade the stainless steel brake line for Buttonwillow.
Yeah dealer changes pads at a certain interval for us. I think we get 1 free pad change under the maintenance. But as you can see in the pics my stock pads already had cracks after about 3 track days where I didn't even go all out since I'm still pretty new to tracking.

Don't go Motul 600 btw, I don't think it's strong enough. Either go Castrol SRF or Motul 660.

any update after few tracks day on Ferodo 2500? I just changed the brake lines and Endless RF-650. But still debating on the pads. (Ferodo, Porterfield, EBC blue just came out.) Don't really wanna spend $500+ on Endless, or project mu pads... damned, what should I do?

I've only done that 1 track day so far since I've been extremely busy. I was perfectly happy with those pads for that day and they have been great for daily driving as well for 2k miles already.

I ran Eagles Canyon north of DFW this last weekend, a track that is notorius on brakes. I ran 4 sessions pretty hard and didn't have any issues; they performed rather predicatably each session. Drove back home (200mi) the next day with no ill-effects at all. So far so good.

Stopping power is still good, haven't had any kind of mushy pedal feel like I did with stocks brakes after hard braking. Only negative is that the pads have become unbedded. So I need to rebedd them in according to my mechanic. He bed them in when installing and I had 0 squeaking at all and no noise nothing. Then I got some squeeking and talked to him and he said that they most likely need to be rebedded in. I haven't had a chance to rebedd them in just yet but I'm sure the squeaking will be gone after I do.

All pads, even street pads will eventually need to be bedded in again for optimum performance without the squeeks.

Thanks for the reply mate. How much milage and track days on the pads?

Is the squeaking worse than the stock pad squeak?

6-7k and 2 track days. My stock pads never squeaked so I can't compare. But if you bed them in properly they don't squeak at all.

Ok thanks mate. Still have a couple months to decide and these are on my short list. Haven't had issues with OEM pads but then again my cars never completed a full session either

Have not experienced any clunking. I think everything has to due with them being properly bedded in and then they have no issues.

After you remove the old BMW pads, unclip the steel backing plates and clip them onto the new pads. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't worry, you will know when you see it.

^ what about running the backing plates w/ the titanium shims? Didn't think I could do both so I left the stock backing plates off. I do get come clunking sometimes. Only when I have been in reverse then braking fwd.

Anymore updates on these pads? Is the squeaking worse than OEM pads? How do they feel on the street?

DS2500 is not a street pad, but rather a street/track/clubsport pad so some noise is expected. However, for most people, when these pads are properly installed and broken-in, there is very little to no noise.

Squeaking has actually gone away without me having to bed them in. Maybe they got bedded in by themselves. I never had OEM squeaking so can't comment on that. They feel pretty good on the street. When I first had them put in I pretty much felt a 20-35% better braking increase over stock with these pads + SRF fluid which seems good for hybrid pads.

I'm pretty happy with them. But my free stock pad exchange is coming up at the dealer soon. I may have them put in the new stock pads so I can test how those + SRF Fluid compare.

How long until you get the OEM pads put back in? I'd like to hear your opinion but will probably need to make a decision soon. I'm not sure how much of the difference is the result of the SRF fluid.
