Reading on the web seems that every brand is the greatest one. It's my understanding that the k40 company is the same one that makes the detectors for the cops so...1st hand knowledge.

Gonna bring this back up. Do many people use Laser Jammers? They are illegal in CA aren't they? Seems like Detecors don't do much for serious speeding anyway. Not to mention in LA county they are starting to use "visual estimation" more and more.

Your right.. and my last ticket was from the timing method. Detectors are useless against this also. I think the best method for speeding is "picking your spots" .. know the area and have fun once in a while in these roads. This has worked for me for years and never had a detector in the car.

Here in Maryland, they use mostly radar and some laser, no visual estimating. I have an Escort 9500i and Laser Interceptor Dual. My radar detector has saved me many times.
