These vents are wider. The 1m air curtains and ducting would look small on a car this wide

Any idea ilikebmxbikes ?

In addition, stuff you bought from Revozport is just incredible ... They provide such good material and their carbon fiber seems to be awsome !

You said you will use a 128i base, but will you put some turbos or whatever ? Will you do a S65 swap again but this time with blowers ?
You need to do the subframes. With an m3 subframe the front will bolt up vs having to make a custom set of motor mounts and modifying a non m subframe. The rear subframe also grants you the use of an oem m3 LSD and suspension. You only need to modify the driveshaft by shortening it.
I think I will go to the custom motor mounts ! I like the idea of this car with narrow axles and a big v8. In addition, the S65 is not that heavier than the N54, could be a very interesting project !

The m3 subframe actually has narrower axels. Its about 10mm narrower per side.

S65 itself is only 15lbs heavier than the n54 and sits further back. The transmission and associated parts are however heavier. My first car weighs 3250lbs vs my e92 at around 3650ish.

It is better to go all M3 axels. You will need all of it. The ability to run m3 brake set ups, m3 steering and full m3 suspension and LSD is a huge upgrade that changes the car as much as the motor swap.

When you get the time, would love to see pics of the rear quarter panels. Curious what part of the rear they replace and how they are mounted.

I put them in a storage crate so it may be a while.

They are a rear arch that is connected to the side skirt so they bolt up on the side skirt and can be moulded on the fender arch

Subscribed, definitely looking forward to the final work. I still look at your 1M build just for admiration. Been wanting to do it myself. Best of luck to you!

Totally agree. FWIW- I weighed the Forge IC vs. OEM in my 1M and the diff is about 13lbs. So in other words, an S65 (to say nothing of supporting running gear) or an N54 w/ an aftermarket intercooler are ~push.

Forgetting weight of other drivetrain components. Regardless, FMIC hangs out in front of the wheels anyways, making that 13lbs not quite the same even if that's all it was.

I still haven't gotten a chassis yet. I am
currently just stacking the s65 / suspension swap parts and working on my e92 m3 project.

My motorswap is on the schedule at Ptech for October so I will get a chassis before then.

What's the projected cost of one of the Ptech S65 Clones? Just curious if they had worked out a price model yet.

Price will fluctuate a bit based on market value of e82 chassis and the type of salvage m3 you go.

Expect at a minimum to pay ~$15k for 135i/128i, ~$12-16k for an m3, 12-15k labor + $1500 for coding/ tuning / gauge cluster work for the mechanical portion. 1M body work if same color will run around ~$13k for a full job.

Options like CF roof, BBK, fresh rod bearings, CSF cooling package ( radiator, steering, oil cooler, Trans cooler) coilovers, dinan parts etc are all extra but you save a lot in labor doing it all at once.

Shit, maybe I'll just cut up my 135i later then. Sounds reasonable though, for around the same price as a 1M, get the machine built as it should have been, with a S65.

It's really cool to pic the car with options too and you really can make the car you want. Performance Technic is currently making a grey one in street trim. It's pretty rad.

Will they sell the cars as a finished product, or do they require piecemeal deposits for each stage? Feel free to PM me if you'd rather btw, don't want to derail your thread.

No worries. I think most people will start by supplying their own e82 chassis and salvage m3.

I do not think the guys plan on building and selling any complete cars.
