Annoying Squeaky Brakes...
Anyone experience that annoying brake squeal? I have an early '08 (March) 135i. I noticed the rather regular squeaking during the winter, it was not present before that. Dealer service guy suggested I needed to brake harder, so I did and it went away, but is back rather quickly. ANyone else expreince this and figure out how to eliminate it?

I had the same problem. Even when brakes are bedded in properly, the pads will glaze over with repeated light use. I did two hard 140-0 stops in quick succession and haven't had them squeak for over a month now. Several 70-0 stops should do the same thing so long as you get the brakes good and hot.

I get just a little noise when it's very cold outside, but it goes away after driving a few miles. I normally tend to "exercise" the brakes on a pretty regular basis, but since the weather has been so bad I haven't been driving the car very hard at all. You guys are probably onto something with the glazing.
