Sticky Clutch

Was messing around in some rain yesterday, and had my clutch stick on me two times. I was messing around in 1st mid/high RPM band and ended up spinning out. When I knew I was loosing the back end, I pushed the clutch in and attempted to put it in neutral.

That is when I noticed that the gear was stuck in first (With the clutch in). I managed to get it neutral with a little more force than it should take, but not so much that I had to strong arm it. I pushed the clutch in and put it back in 1st and noticed that the clutch was already floored and had no play.... So I grabbed it with my hand and pulled it back towards me and then everything was fine. The car never stalled or anything weird.

This happened twice and I just don't know why. I asked some people at work and they said maybe its something with hydraulic fluid/clutch and someone said maybe somehow the clutch was sticking to the flywheel? Any idea?

I wonder if this symptom might be allieviated by removing the cdv. its happened to me in 2nd. Wouldn't let me upshift to 3rd

2nd the CDV as the culprit. That is what you had... you stepped on the clutch quickly and even though your foot was on the floor - your clutch was not disengaged. That delay is due to your CDV.

Check your fluid level and I would bleed the system.
