1M Entered in Ultimate Track Car Challenge
Just got word that my 1M will be competing in Grassroots Motorsports Ultimate Track Car Challenge at VIR on July 19th. My friend and NASA Spec E30 National's winner Robert Grace will be the wheelman.
Sounds like a good excuse for another round of modifications! Neil |

Plans for aero advancing.
I test fit an APR GTC-200 wing last night and will be mounting it this weekend. It will pain me a bit to drill four holes in my trunk, but there is a cost to going fast! Since I'm too old for that "boy racer" image, my plan is to mount the wing only for track weekends and I've ordered some white nylon plugs for the holes when the wing isn't in use. Additionally, I picked up a used Revozport splitter. My plan is to only use the upper piece as a "filler" and to mount an alumalite or dibond splitter beneath it. RRT Racing will be figuring out the best way to secure it so the two pieces can be easily installed/removed since I don't plan to use either piece on the street. I've also ordered a set of BFG R1 tires (a semi-slick DOT-R track tire) to mount on some Apex ARC-8 wheels (10" wide front, 10.5" rear) that I purchased in the group buy. I'll be instructing at Summit Point for NASA's Hyperfest June 16-17 and then at VIR for a Tarheel's HPDE at the end of the month. Hopefully, these events will give me a chance to "tune" the new set-up in preparation for the UTCC in July. Neil |
