Make sure to do a search because I suspect the topic has been covered before. That being said I'm running 275/35/18 Nitto NT01 on 18x10et25 Apex ARC-8. You will need camber plates for this. More front end grip although steering a little bit more numb. Easier to rotate the car. Square setup greatly increases track tire longevity with ability to rotate tires. You probably give up some ultimate speed compared to a staggered setup with max rubber (e.g. 295 or even 305) in the rear. I've also run the same size tires on a set of square rear 219M wheels as well. ARC-8S are nkticeably lighter. Apex EC-7 should also be on your shortlist of track wheels.

Vorshlag camber plates, and yes still on Ohlins. No spacers. The best steering feel I've had on the car was with stock 18" front (245/40/18 I think?) Yoko AD08s. Can't explain why but turn in was sharp and precise. Makes sense that a bigger fatter tire might feel less responsive whilst delivering more overall grip.

I like them enough.
I found the stock suspension to be a bit jumpy and crashy...Jethro Bovingdon mentioned in a recent M2 vs PCS video, regarding the M2, that "it's got that BMW thing of not having much control over high-frequency bumps..." and when I heard that I felt like it summarized my complaint about the stock 1M suspension. Then again, some of that movement also makes the car feel alive and a handful. To my disappointment the Ohlins did not dial this out completely, although I think it is better. I do like the ability to switch settings for track and street, so overall I have no complaints. NVH isn't any worse than stock, as far as I can remember. |
