Was this open to the public? Maybe somebody took some "unofficial" photos?

I really hope that's cf, which just shows that bmw didn't really skimp on the money to build this car.
Hopefully when the car is released that it will have cf roof and diffuser with more paint options and a dct option as well.

So far I think the exterior design is pretty unique... Not exactly the same as what's on the current M cars.

Could be shadowline trim, basically painted plastic.

Yes but even shadow line trim has a bit of a satin shade... its not a glossy as BMWs CF parts are.

Heck of an Aero kit with the rear facing vent behind the rear tire and the colored part of the rear body below the bumper hiked up so far and wide away from the exhaust!

Maybe it is just the cockeyed angle of the picture?

Nice to have something new to look at--it has been a while.

Spotted it, just reserving excitement until we get a better look at it

The whole thing looks menacing so far.. this is going to be one mental looking Bimmer.

LOL, I'm AFK for 5 minutes and they pull a mini-reveal on me!

Looks like the diffuser could be shadowline (see pic of my M Sport touring) but could also be CF, too hard to tell.

They said the Paris Motor show could have been a security risk, are you telling me Place Charles de Gaulle is any more secure!!!

It was the car shown to BMW.FR , wheeled out , the next panel removed and put back in a truck back to Garching, It has been hidden at the staging areas at the Porte de Versailles expo so when you you were all oogling and ahhing over the 6er Coupe Concept this baby was behind the scenes. Waiting alongside the other cars that were removed in order to accomodate the press on the show floor.

The security risk is minimal because the car was removed afterwards.
They wanted to put the 1M on the showfloor revealing the removed panels but decided against because of the security risk of someone deciding to do the reveal early.
