Stumble stumps my BMW service on my 135i!
I had a rough running situation that threw a CEL. It turned into a fault detected power downgraded or something like that on my way to the dealer for service. They've spent all week testing, reprogramming, etc. They are stumped, though the original codes were related to the O2 sensor, they are unsure what is causing this. This is maddening, I've not had great luck with them in the past.
They I guess are escalating this and having a BMW field tech come out. Anyone else have issues like this? I am going to have them share my lease payment!!! |

1 week later, and lots of fixes that didn’t work. Bah. They've still got my car, I don’t have a loaner, they're talking about having a BMW field tech come out in two weeks???

Demand a loaner... My dealer gave me a sweet $80k sticker price x5 to drive while mine was in for warranty.
Sucks about the delay though... I know that even with the super loaded x5, I still missed my 135 |

Good Lord - they didn't give you a loaner? Demand one or tell them they don't get any of your sure-to-be-lucrative HPFP repair business.

I seem to be powerless with these guys. They can only lend a Chevy Malibu from their fleet, no BMW loaners any more, AND they are all out. Now, they promised me the car for the weekend, and I get a call yesterday that they AGAIN ordered the wrong parts. The wrong O2 sensors. The irony here is that the o2 sensors were the source of faults MONTHS ago, and they have done nothing hard on the car, just all "we re-calibrated this" or some other B.S.
This dealer has a bad track record with me, I won't be going back. Too bad they are close and the only one within 45 mins one way travel. They have been trying to fix a cracked mirror for months. Ordered parts, received wrong side. Reordered, gave me the car back dirty, with food crumbs on the console (I do not eat in the car). PM me if you need the name of the dealer to save yourself a big hassle. This is only my second BMW, 5th if you count minis. I can't remember ever having troubles like this before. My Lotus is 100X more reliable! My wife is telling me to get a Honda for a DD and save the crankiness for a play car! |
