Washing Convertible Fabric Top

Just wondering what cleaning procedures convertible owners use to keep their tops looking new? Do you wash it each time you wash the car or just give it a rinse? Do you use regular car wash soap or a special product?

I do not wash it with soap, I just rinse if off. I have read that vacumning it is a good idea. I plan to buy special soap and protectant to treat the top every 6 months to a year. Bavarian is one source although I bet the detail shop could give a good recommendation.

I just rinse it with water and use the BMW fabric top cleaner once every 6 months. The top still looks great after a year.

I've had good results by washing about every 4 months and then treating with RaggTopp protectant.
