Quesiton regarding upgrading the upgraded stereo....

Have tried to "search" and have not had luck. I have a 2008 135i with the upgraded stereo, but am looking for more. Would be willing to invest $1000-$1500. Just wondering if anyone has some good suggestions, I am a musician and sound is almost as important as performance for me! Thanks.

I went to Blvd Customs who does really high end cars. They wanted to do full JLs in my car for $1200... The tweeters, speakers on the door and subs under the seat... Not the kind of cash I would like to blow right now.. But they would have to take a 5 series set up because the 1 does not have much stuff...

My theory is... JL or nothing.... The best speakers EVER...

Take it over to Elite Audio in Spartanburg- probably the best shop around you. Otherwise, I can possibly refer you to an individual named Matt Roberts in the area, but that may be getting a bit ahead of you with regards to the level you are looking to achieve.

And opinions differ on JL... certainly a solid company with a solid product offering; but generally not regarded as "the best" in all categories.

You're better off looking on the 3-series forum for more information on upgrading. Here is a thread with speakers that are known to replace the ones in the 1-series or 3-series http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=343673

There are a few experts on there and even some that have their own shops like VP Electricity http://www.musicarnw.com/bmw/ and 6SpdCoupe (Unexpected Creations).
They can offer package upgrades for you.

honestly, I would highly recommend sending VP Electricity a PM or calling musicarNW directly. He has lots of package options for your car. He specializes in the E82, E9X. That way you can get some direct answers and good deals.
