UPDATED: 330 with H&R Race Springs
Hi everyone,
I'm new here. Picked up my 330 last Friday and knew that I wasn't going to keep her stock for too long. She had the Sport Package already but I wanted to drop her more. After reviewing all the various spring/suspension posts (thank you BTW) I decided on the H&R setup. Faced with the choice of "Sport" or "Race" I opted to go for the "Race" version. According to H&R the "Race" version drops the car 2" in the front and 1.5" in the rear vs. 1.3" and 1.2" for the "Sport" version. Part Number: 50490-88 Here are a couple nighttime pics. I'll get daylight shots over the weekend when I clean her up more. Lastly I ordered some new "footgear" Thanks to this board I'm able to share my enjoyment of the 3 with other enthusiasts!

Car and the drop look great in your photos mava. I had an s2000 on coilovers too, pretty much slammed and even without the front lip I was scraping all over
Don't mean to hijack your thread, but just wanted to share pic of my former s2000 for nostalgia sake, what other mods have you done to your s2k? |

Yep that was me (jwocky). You have a great memory, that was almost a year ago. I see we have similar taste in cars. I love the new s2000's, I actually bought the new bumper to retrofit onto my car at the time, but ended up not installing it when I sold the car. Those Work wheels are definitely one of the hottest wheels for the s2k!
Glad to have you on the forum and thanks for the compliment. |

There are some nice lowered cars being shown in this thread. Thanks for showing pics of the race springs, I think it's the first pics I've seen of a car lowered on these. The other ones were all sport springs.

mava, is there a very noticeable difference in ride quality? Can you tell it's much more harsh and bumpy when you drive it on the road?
One of my nurse friends was driving a lowered Honda Accord when she entered Lomita Blvd during the two weeks it took them to resurface the pavement prior to laying down new blacktop. She hit one of the sewer manhole ledges and it brought her car to an abrupt stop, broke her tranny, cracked her windshield, blew her front airbags, and broke her eyeglasses. Aren't you a little concerned about potholes and occasional road surprises? Last edited by ksfrogman; 01-05-2006 at 03:12 AM.. |

Others have PM'ed me about the ride, handling characteristics since performing this mod. I only took delivery last night and haven't had time to drive her in the canyons and get a feel for the ride however I'll share the following initial observations for now:
* Re: noise, rattles, etc: No problems at all. BMW vault-like quality is preserved. * Re: rubbing: Using the same practices approaching curbs as my S I haven't rubbed/scraped the front (Don't intend to either because the car sit higher than my S2K) *** I'll still continue to drive her gently until 1,250 miles. I will also perform an alignment after 3 weeks to give the suspension/springs an opportunity to settle. Then I'll come back and give y'all better driving impressions. Thanks everyone for your replies.

In fact I'm going to the LA Autoshow this weekend just to see what styles the tuners out there have come up with for the E90.
