IBS replacement

a very quick question,

trying to prove a fault out an IBS from main dealer price nearly made me choke, a non-dealer part is probably around half.

I know some things I don't like risking to non-dealer part.

Should I go dealer/non-dealer

thank you

Never had to replace the IBS - but it's an all electronic part right? Who's the alternate vendor you're looking at/who makes it? If it's the OE manufacturer I would not hesitate. Even an OEM. If it's just a 3rd party/aftermarket then there can be some concern although for something simple like an IBS that doesn't have any mechanical components, seals, etc it may be worth it.

yes theres a chip in the IBS, there's also a pigtail which MIGHT need to be replaced if the part is wrong. I havent looked around yet, but I got shock from the price from the dealer. (actually I shouldnt have been shocked LOL)

What are the symptoms you're seeing? I've always wondered what happens if the IBS fails.

FCP has a Hella replacement, I'd trust that over other aftermarket brands.

I've had weird probs for a while, I'll try and keep it short and bullet pointed

1> in ISTA, can see current draw issues
2> Car keeps getting woken up 2 days out of 5
3> battery replaced
4> Comfort access stopped working, pass door, then driver
5> sometimes CA can be a problem with parasitic draw
6> I had done some work on the battery a while ago, and the neg cable arced (ibs chip right )
7> car starts, runs no issues
8> ISTA errors saying it cant see/read various control modules
9> P160f (battery not charging) code, but non-existant
10> sometimes BM will stop non-essentials, not working (ie such as CA) to stop current drain

I read up and amongst other things, suggested IBS

I saw the hella replacement BTW, txs for that
