Experience installing Alpine Halo9

A local stereo store offered to install the Alpine Halo9 stereo (with floating head) for $1800.

The salesperson said I needed something called an AXDIS-BW122 adapter. That thing alone is $600.

So I said No, and I went to Best Buy afterwards. Those guys said that the Alpine Halo9 was a no-go. It would interfere with the operation of my convertible top.

I really would like to have the Alpine stereo, but I am about to go with a Sony.

Does anyone know what the truth is with installing an Alpine unit in their 135i?

I do not have a any sort of BMW Nav unit in my 135i.

Thanks!

Have you made a choice yet. What did you end up installing? I don’t know the answer to your questions but am in a similar position.
