135i projector mount adaptive headlight issue

good evening, I ordered new headlights and opened them in order to install different internals and noticed that my drivers side headlight projector(adaptive) doesn't move left/right like the passenger side does. Is this a software/power issue since the headlights are not connected to a power source or did I somehow manage to damage them?

Likely a bad module on the back of the light. They can get water in them and corrode.
