Convertible Glass Repair
I have a 2013 128 soft top convertible and the glass is separating from the top. I am in the Daytona Florida area does anyone know of a shop in this area that does top repairs on convertibles or an upholstery shop.
I really don't want to do the job DIY. Any suggestions would be appreciated. |

I think most of us that have tried to repair this (either DIY or professional) have had limited success. Mine was done by what I think of as one of the better shops in Sarasota and it lasted just more than a year.
Good luck. |

You can try fixing it yourself - Rhino Glue plus suction clamps:

Never seen those clamps before. That looks like it can work.
1 Series tops are cloth, right? so not sure how that Rhino glue would work but really just becomes a matter of finding the right glue (after the window gets cleaned completely). |

I did the Rhino Glue repair on my '99 C5 Corvette a few years ago. It held up until I was able to get a new top put on (a year or so).

Rear window repair
Ok so I did the DYI rear window repair...used 3M glass weld and bought the suction clamps. 3/4 of the seal and repair turned out pretty good but the right side vertical part kept bowing and it was extremely difficult to finally get it all in place and "glued " down. Left it set for about 40 hours then removed the clamps and trimmed all the excess glue off. So now most of the window looks decent but the right side is not so decent.
So I'm hoping this lasts for quite a while till I decide what i'm doing with the car. |
