OEM BMW Performance Power Kit (Version 1: Engine Software only) Special pricing in effect until the end of 2011! BMW Power Kits are the only form of “tuning kits” approved and covered under the BMW of North America limited warranty. Power Kits are designed and tested by BMW engineers to provide the highest power increase without sacrificing reliability. Kit includes a red envelope containing a release code certificate that includes the key numbers required to install the Power Kit software at your local BMW dealership, along w/ BMW Peformance Power Kit label.

Power Kit Highlights:

• Horsepower is increased to 320hp (20hp increase).

It's going to depend on your current software level installed in the vehicle and which production date range your vehicle is in. Our current service rate is 130.00 per hr.

Downloading and installation of the software must be done at your local BMW dealership.

So... how does that work when you buy the SW tune from Tischer? Do you get some sort of coupon and you take that to your local BMW dealer?

What is the range of labor for the install? One, two, three hours??? There must be some sort of guidelines. ???

Can someone buy the perf SW from Tischer and have a German dealer do the install? (IF the German dealer is willing to honor it?) Most only charge an hour for updates over here. That is what my dealer has quoted me before. 1 hr = 120 euros.

You get a red envelope with the enabling code your local BMW dealership will then use to download/install the software.

The labor is going to vary depending on the current software level of the vehicle. In some cases it can be done in as little as 45 mins - 1 hr.

Any idea what they did for the exhaust burble "new feature"? N55s already burble on the overrun, does it just happen more often with this?

I'd like to find this out as well. I'm hearing different stories from a modified exhaust to nothing at all (135i). Go figure.

I did stage 1 for my 135i and should be getting it back this afternoon from the dealer.

About local BMW dealers downloading software, do you know if international BMW dealers have the same programming systems? I called the local BMW dealer here in Germany and they said they will do the programming, but they're not sure if it's the same programming system used in the states.
