Lightweight wheels 17\18 recent setups

I know this thread has been created a lot but I'm interested in hearing guys recent rims and tires purchased for 135 with large front calipers , looking to buy the lightest combination that will fit with no spacers I was told 18s look better but I'm after weight if the prices are the same , looking forward to your opinions

I have 135i calipers in front and I'm running 245s on a 17x8 wheel with 45 mm offset and no spacers. I have no caliper clearance issues. They're a little under 19 lbs. Unfortunately the Leggera HLT isn't available anymore, but several other OZ wheels are.

Something that might add to your consideration is 17" tires are much cheaper than 18" tires - which is why I went 17" wheels for my competition setup (128i brakes though, sorry).

For example:
245/40/17 Falken RT660 - $182/tire at Tirerack
245/40/18 Falken RT660 - $222/tires at Tirerack

Those savings add up fast if you're using 1 set or more per summer.

This is what I'm on, https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1606248
They are still made far as I can find. Just not carried by Tire Rack any more.

If this was the the early 2000s everyone would still be rocking 20s with spinner rims.

Eh, not that likely on a momentum car like the 128i and definitely not on any enthusiasts' cars. Light wheels have always been important to drivers as opposed to poseurs. On some of the larger BMWs, oh yeah.

Currently running apex arc 8 17 x 8.5 et40 and I have no clearance issues with 335i front brakes (348mm) and according to apex you can easily fit 355mm bbk
