M Button 2011 1m
Do all 1M's have an 'M' button on the steering wheel? Every picture that I have seen would indicate that the answer is yes but I am looking at purchasing an 1M that does not...it has the 'recirculation' and the 'next track/function' buttons. It is a Canadian market version. Thanks!

Yes, they were all built with the M button.
Best guess is someone needed to replace the wheel on the car at some point and they used a different variation. (Maybe it had the performance wheel installed that someone wanted back, or maybe just a freshening up for sale.) In the early days of the E90/92 M3, it was possible to order cars without the M button and that wheel would look like what you are describing. I can try to confirm if you have the VIN. |

Car is now in my hands. Button was possibly swapped but it's also likely the case that the 1M was delivered originally from the factory with this button error. The car has relatively low mileage and has a documented history so it's difficult to believe that it would have worn down. When pressed, the 'next function' button would actually activate the 'M', or 'Sport' mode! New 'M' button has been installed and my curiosity has been taken care of! Thanks,
