I wouldn't even bother with your dealer if they're telling you that nonsense. Owen was kind enough to get the part #s for all the stickers, so you can just have the parts department order those or get from one of the forum vendors/sponsors, which might be your better way to go as the badge itself was $56 from the dealer but about $28 elsewhere online:

I don't think it's worth the hassle of dealing with the dealer, especially if they're giving you a hard time saying they're not even available. I'd order from getbmwparts or ECS, they'll cost under $30 for all of them if you want all the stickers/badges and then you don't have to deal with incompetent/misinformed dealers.

Most of us don't have all the badges though. I only have the white Attention one saying PPK installed, change the spark plugs. I've really debated getting the full on black badge, but my dealer seemed uninterested in even entertaining the idea and not sure I want to spend $28 of my own money for a sticker. Came REALLY close though a few weeks ago. I think if you get them yourself you can also then dictate where they go as some people have them in much better places than others or nicely lined up with other stickers under the hood.

I initially wanted the additional stickers/black badge because I was completely paranoid a service department might inadvertently erase my PPK software. My service advisor said there's literally no chance of that happening and it's in all their systems that I have it, so the badge to warn a potential tech is serious overkill. I kinda believe him, but still wish I had the black badge that I'm sure I'd accidentally put on crooked then.

Huh. That's really too bad. My SA was here in Denver was 100% helpful and I couldn't have been more pleased w/ the experience (except for the outrageous price of the PPK badge).

In hindsight, I should have done more research because I could have saved some ca$h by buying them online. But alas, I didn't have the part numbers at the time.

IMO, I would avoid the dealer and get 'em for half-price online as greg suggested. Let us know what you end up doing.

These are the official ones that came with (some) IS's. The one that says M Performance Power Kit would be for the newer PPKs on the f-series cars as they now call it the M Performance Power Kit and includes a different engine cover as well.

Or, if someone is placing a large order and throwing in a few badges doesn't add to the S&H it might make more sense. I almost did it when I ordered the performance rotors as it added $1 for S&H, but I got hung up on do I want to spend $28 for a sticker, so passed for now.

Don't get performance rotors until your warranty / maintenance plan expires!

Ha! I know...it's a lot of wasted money to do so before then, but didn't want to wait 3.5 years to get them. Plus, I only drive about 6-7k miles a year, so won't be needing new brakes/rotors for a very long time. Had I known about them beforehand, I'd have gotten them as a port-installed accessory when I ordered the car so had them from the get go.

With that said, I already put them on the other day and they look simply amazing with the 313s. I'll be posting pics soon on the IS thread in a few days after the matte gray coating is completely off and I clean the car up a bit this weekend.

I didn't want to wait 4 years to put 'em on my new car, either. My IS is not my dd, so it will be a lower-mileage car. I agree with greg - the slotted/drilled rotors look awesome with the 313s. These wheels really show off the performance rotors and calipers nicely. IMO, these rotors should have come w/ the car. They look freakin sweet. Can't wait to see pix once your car is all cleaned up!

Ordered the stickers and F series badge. Stickers are on national back order (2-3 weeks) but I suspect it may be longer. Hopefully not.

The white "Attention" sticker was easy to place.

On a side note, I ordered 5 sets of OEM stickers from ESC tuning for members who are missing theirs. You can have the OEM PPK sticker or the 6-language "attention" spark plug stickers. Or you can have both. With the shipping discount from ECS, I can sell you both stickers at my cost for $30 total. They have to come from Germany, so it'll be a few weeks before I have them. Send me a PM if you're interested and I'll put you on the list. I only ordered 5 sets, but can order more if needed. So let me know.

Pff, it doesn't work like that. You gotta take the whole sheet and all the other languages! You don't necessarily have to put them all on your car in various places like mb135is did, but I reckon you gotta take the whole sheet. I may get a tattoo of one of these on me.

LOL. You sure you don't want the German one, too. I'm going to put the German one under the hood somewhere. You know, German engineering and all.
