I already have the headliner back in. It mounts in the stock sunroof location and shares the mounting points, the holes lined up well. You'll have to drill 3 holes for the rear section of it since the stock sunroof extents to the rear of the car.

I already have Stoptechs on my 1er but seeing what is happening I hope they'll still make pads. Crap situation all around.

Look forward too seeing your build get completed.
The fitment and quality were good, it was everything else that I found to be a pain. They claim they will send me a brand new panel, but we'll see. I've noticed Stoptech suddenly increase their social media presence, and from what I've heard, it was the abrupt change in suppliers when they were bought that caused a lot of the delay. Could go either way at this point.

My frustration wasn’t an adjustment install issue. It flat out didn’t fit properly and would eventually let water in. When I explained that to them, he treated me like an incompetent idiot.

Ignore the circle, I was highlighting that to prove refund approval.
After your earlier post about NRW I looked into BW and noticed they were no longer selling that sunroof delete so I had to play nice with NRW since there was no other option that I could find. If this is going in your daily or the car will see rain, probably a good idea to caulk around the panel prior to install.

I understand and agree if it’s the only game in town. Looks like they’ve improved their fitment given your experience which is great!

Definitely used RTV black. Car is far far from daily…

FYI Gents,

Going to remove and sell the SR2 Carbon sunroof delete from my E92 m3. I’ll be removing the roof for cage work and going to just replace the whole thing with a carbon one. Checking interest at $400.

Will remove and clean it up. Happy to ship at cost.

So NRW sent a new carbon roof panel. Looked great, but fitment wasn't as good as the chipped panel. Anyway, I sold the new panel to a forum member and put the chipped panel back in. What a headache that was.

I was told 2 more months of waiting for my Stoptech BBK so I told them to just cancel the order. Funny, 20 minutes later I get an email that my brakes have shipped. Maybe a coincidence...

The Trophy kit came and it looks fantastic. I weighed the stock brakes at 15 lbs and the Trophy kit at 12 lbs (including: Caliper, Pads, Brackets, Lines).

I will need to redo my brake cooling setup since I mistakenly have the duct pointed at the outside of the rotor disk diameter instead of the inside rotor hat. I threw the new kit on to check fitment while I wait for the new splash shields. I found no issues with clearance.

I altered my brake cooling ducts to aim at the center of the disc. The total weight savings of the Stoptech Trophy kit, including rotors, was 4 lbs of un-sprung weight per side.

Next project is to try and balance the aero with a front splitter. This is a 4" splitter I cut from 1/2" Birch. I will alter the Clinched front splitter to mate with the wooden splitter so that it is air tight. Next is to figure out the best way to mount it to the front subframe.

Got the splitter mounted using 4 Professional Awesomes splitter rods and M10 bolts into the subframe. The splitter clevis for the sides fit perfectly into the bumper bar mount threads, very convenient. I drilled into the bumper for the 2 front splitter clevis mounts.

That is awesome. I am almost inspired to change my support setup to yours. Did you just get 18" ones or did you need a 36" to cut down for the rear connections?

Thanks, the 18" rods were plenty long enough. I think I cut the rear rod lengths to ~12" or so.

Here's the final product. I rounded the front edge and painted it black. Splitter and hardware adds 15lbs to the front. Came out ok, I should probably ditch the OEM undertray and drill the bottom bumper mounts direct to the splitter. The very ends of the splitter aren't as solid as I'd like, but ok for now.

It also sits low, about 85mm of clearance to the ground. I'll need to add some delrin pucks to the bottom or this thing won't last very long. Or potentially add some ride height to the front.

It'd be interesting to see aero details. Are you familiar with the idea of taping little pieces of yarn all over the place, and then driving around with another person nearby filming it? The gist is that the yarn will go different directions, and either stay put or flip around, and give you an idea how the flow is going.

Your build is coming along quite nice and I'm def diggin your BBK.

Do you mind if I ask where you purchased your Stoptech BBK from? I ordered mine mid May from buybrakes and they stated a 3 month wait (Aug 2023).

I've read fe1rx's thread where he did this and assume my airflow will be similar, although slightly worse with the wide body kit. Side skirts would help keep the high pressure from bleeding under the car and a rear diffuser would help with some additional downforce.

It'll probably be longer than that, I waited 8 months before mine shipped. I got them from CSPRacing, but seems like they all ship directly from the factory.

Where did you wire it to? My issue is all of these posts are so vague when it comes to the wiring. Any help would be great
