Figured I'd ask here as well....but for the below options on my 2011 (build date 07/2010).....is this the Base stereo or the HiFi stereo? I know of course for sure i dont have the Premium HiFi (HK stereo)..

The HK emblem will be on the tweeters on the A pillars if you have the Harmon kardon system

How do you know if you have the base or the "HiFi" system? HK is the premium HiFi system i believe.

Except in older cars like mine. Base stereo, but tweeters in the front and rear.

We're probably having a problem with terminology. My use of the phrase "base sterio" isn't very precise. In 2009, there were only two systems, both with the tweeters in the doors. Worldwide there were three offerings as discussed in the attached. During other years in the U. S., I understand that BMW also offered the tweeter-less system in this country.

What I should have said is that if you have no tweeters in the A pillar you have the lowest level system offered in this car (worldwide). If you have the tweeters you have at least the mid-level system (which was the base system in the U. S. in 2009 and some other years).

Professional/Logic 7 (option 677) and HK (option 688) is the same, only different name/option number. HK replaced Professional, and these two where never offered simustanely.

For what it's worth, my car has option S677A - HiFi Professional System (DSP) according to the WebETK. I've got the EQ in my iDrive settings and I have a sub under each front seat - but my tweeters are not marked with the H/K branding.

Regardless, the system sounds great. No complaints.

OK... I'm still confused as to what I have...

I have a 2013 135i that I bought "used" (I say "used", because it only had a little over 3K miles on it when we bought it a couple weeks ago). But I don't have the window sticker.

It does not have the iDrive/NAV screen. The radio says "Professional". The speakers are Harman Kardon.

Do I have the "Harman Kardon Premimum Audio" system? How many, of what size, and what location are the speakers?

I looked under the driver seat with a flashlight, and didn't see a sub, so thought maybe I had a "smaller" system. Looking again, I then noticed a speaker grill in the floor .

That prompted me to fiddle with the stereo settings/buttons (hadn't really had a chance to explore previously). Found and turned on the Logic-7 setting, and adjusted the equalizer a bit to my liking--quite a difference, and excellent sounding system! Much better than most Bose systems I've heard.

I know this is an old thread. I have a 2013 128i with professional radio. I have the subs under the seats but are they actually functioning or just there? If so can i get them to function? Thanks.
