It shows an identical to the 135i, 7000rpm redline. So it's not going to be a 4cyl turbo as suspected. It will be the same 3.0L TT.

Thumbs down

I think I heard a collective "Lame..." go out across the 1addicts mailing list...

Seriously, they give us some carbon fiber parts, an interior retrim, a new grille, some wheels and a vinyl job? What is this, Unique Whips? This hardly counts as a concept car to me.

pretty much my feeling too... maybe there's something under all that carbon fiber we don't know about :iono:

I love the concept but could do without the goofy paint scheme...

I like the interior a lot, but that is not enough to make me wait for it, and I agree if they make the engine any hotter it will be faster than a M3, which BMW will never do. So, I believe anything they ever do to the 135i will just in the end be like a limited edition dress up package or something similar to the competition package for the M3....no engine mods.

wonderful lack of any real technical info there. i like how they act like there are huge aerodynamic changes. AW looks damn good. at least theyre thinking in the right direction..?

fwiw, whats the original tii badging from?

there won't be an M1. maybe a 1-M or some other clever name. and it will be designed to replace what is considered a limited production 135 and have similar power output likely in NA I6 form. and hopefully with a lot less fat

Must be a Japanese thing, what with the market for weird bling over there.

There's a tii turning over in its grave right now.

meh...I'm not feeling it AT ALL...

don't doctor it up with a bunch of crap...give us the things we really want:

LSD
UNIQUE to 1 series performance wheels (or SE like the M ZCP)
Serious Suspension upgrades
DSC that can be completely disabled

and for me...no sunroof...that HAS to be an option. But the reality is that it will probably be better for me if I don't have that choice...my E46 M3 was harder to sell because it lacked a sunroof and power seats. I couldn't believe that people bitch ALL DAY about weight but are willing to put an extra 40-50lbs at the highest point on the car. So to be quite honest, I tired of people bitching about the weight because they are generally the same ones who WANT a sunroof.

I thought the DSC can be completely disabled on the 135i already?

So this is the ZHP (Performance package) of the 1 series.

Looks like the same engine configuration to me - N54. Perhaps a little extra BHP for bragging rights, maybe a more responsive mapping.

100lbs less weight.

No mention of LSD.

Lots of expensive goodies. $10k more in price.

I think I'll pass.

All in all I wouldn't mind some of the pieces being offered on the 135 under the BMW Performance Parts program. The CF Gurney Flap is nice and the rear skirt isn't bad. I like how the front air dam isn't as squared off as the "std" M kit one is :iono: And of course, the Alcantara interior bits are nice Other than that though, it doesn't really seem to be anything special :iono:

....it looks lower, and front tires are also wider than 135's.
The tires are also Dunlop, and not Bridgestone. ( not run flats ? )
Calipers seem a little bigger too, may be not....
If it does have a hard core suspension and is lighter than the 135i I would wait for it. ( But please keep the stripes for the "concept car" only.)
It's kind of promising...

If offered for the 135, I would consider purchasing the steering wheel and shifter, the CF deck lid spoiler, the hood "air guides" and possibly (depending on $$$) the front and rear skirts
