21 - 6MT. It took me a LONG time to find the "almost perfect" 1 series. There are only a few in the entire nation that are AW/Black 6speed.

23- 6spd. I learned to drive a manual so that I can get this car and now I won't go back.

First Auto I have ever owned. Would have prefered a manual but did not want to wait for it. Honestly, with this transmission and the paddle shifters, I don't miss it as much as I thought I would. |

35 - Manual.
I've owned some automatics over the years, and I've always felt that a sport oriented car just isn't the place for them. On something like a 7 Series, the auto is perfect, but on a small, fast car, I just like the additional feel from the solid driveline. I would give a good Dual Clutch transmission some serious consideration, but I'd have to do a long test drive with it. I'm just no so sure about their smoothness during day to day driving. The manual may be a little more work, but it's not thrashing around when I've got passengers in the car. I never liked the SMG setups during my limited experance with them because of their low speed characteristics. |

28, 6spd Manual. I couldn't imagine an automatic sportscar, even though I know it performs well.

135i 6MT on order
02 RSX-S 6MT 96 Integra 5MT 84 Civic 4MT 73 Lotus Europa JPS 4MT 73 Bavaria 4MT 61 Chevy Belair auto - sucked! Personally, I love manual, though there are traffic days when the left calf gets a little tired. When I can't drive a stick, I'll stop driving. |

51 and ONLY DRIVE STANDARD TRANSMISSIONS!
Automatics are boring! I simply cannot understand anyone who would buy a sports car with an automatic transmission. ALL my cars since I was first licensed in 1974 were standard. Outside of my 1 series,WHICH IS STANDARD TRANS, I also have a Poesche 911SC. STANDARD of course, BUT a friend of mine just purchased a new Porsche with an automatic, I advised him not to... he now wishes he listened to me... Yea, I may be an old geezer but I'll drive circles around any young hopped up kid! Yea, I 51 but still have that teenage blood in me! HOT RODS FOR EVER! |

41, 6MT; always manual, but in the future may consider a Dual Clutch gearbox with a center console mounted gear shifter (quicker overall); Cheers!
