Here is my annoying a** list of problems that has me looking away from BMW for good (and this is my first bmw): *Loud popping noise from dash that sounds like a gunshot and scares the crap out of me *Sunroof that rattles all the time, dealer can't fix it () *All the recall stuff was pretty annoying (tail lights, seat belt issue, and something else) *Cylinder head replacement to get rid of the very loud ticking noise *Valve timing actuator went out on my 128i, so basically my car had irregular idles and died twice sitting at idle *Numerous creaks and rattles in the car on non-sport suspension *Loud buzzing sound from the radio during the colder months - one day it was screeching so loud i jumped out of my car and had to unplug the battery *Comfort access door lock mechanisms replaced on both doors *Window regulators "re-programmed" because they wouldn't allow the window to go up or down automatically - still happens every once in awhile *The most recent thing now is both side view mirrors are discoloring and have double image problems..... *And I'm sure I'm missing a few other things...who knows.... WTF!! This car has 30K miles on it and has had almost 9-10k in repairs (parts and labor). If I had this car out of warranty I would be broke as a joke. Unless quality increases in these cars, I will be saying goodbye to bmw in April. I say this because my family has had all different BMW models including M's since the 1970s and all of them have had no serious issues except the hpfp in my dad's 335i. |

Now my '09 128i has been the most reliable car that I have owned. Other than recalls there have been no repairs at all.

Anyone ever figure out what the popping sound from windshield/dashboard is? I've been dealing with this too, but recently got camber plates installed, so I'm sure the dealer will try to blame those even though this sound started before I ever got them.

I've heard it a couple times. Similar to popping dash noises from the AC in other cars I've been in, just unusually loud. I may here it once a trip, or I may not hear it at all. Doesn't really seem like a problem. (shrug)

Sounds like you need an alignment.
I've broken - Cupholder - iPod Cable - 3rd taillight - and exploded the oil out of 3 of 4 rear subframe bushings (seriously) I abuse the hell out of my car, and if that's the extent of the damage, I'm pretty happy. By the way, your car is under warranty, go get it fixed! |

-Popping sound from windshield/dashboard, yes -Entire dash now creaky over bumps, yes -loud random buzzing from rear speakers whether car is off or on, yes +TPMS falsing +Lag when ECU was re-programmed due to random no sound out of stereo Yes, the honeymoon period is over, but it's still puts a smile to my face when I floor it. |

Owned for less than a year...
- HPFP - dash popping - hole in top (vert) caused by internals pinching it (top replaced) - brakes squeeking (was told this can't be fixed) "they just do that" - rear defroster lines out......top replaced - tail light out - rear defroster lines out..(again) - USB port does not charge or recognize my phone Going back to the dealer today for the last two. Looks like this car will have 4 new tops in less then a year.

I have a squeak in the center armrest... Otherwise... Tight as can be.
Oh I forgot... It makes a loud noise when I step on the skinny pedal on the right... But I can deal with that noise... |

they HAVE to fix your brakes. if under warranty, keep complaining till they replace pads and sensors.
I had to do the same thing last January Quote:
