Exclamation :: Definitive E82 / E88 Bulb Guide

This thread will be the definitive guide for replacement bulbs. The Sylvania guide is incorrect (found out the hard way). I'd also like to compile an accurate list of compatible bulbs. So, let's begin! Please feel free to chime in and I'll update this post. Let's go!

The BLUE highlighted model numbers are either what Sylvania says (heh) is the OE bulb or what I/we believe it to be.

NOTE: Please do not take the initial list as gospel. It's up to the community to assist to make this list accurate!

LAST REVISION:
JULY 7th 2008 (added rear bulb picture)

Anyone confirm front turn signal bulb size and number? Want to get some PIAA bulbs.

I see the Sylvania site to show the daytime running lights / halos to be H3's:

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm

I'm pretty sure this is incorrect as this thread mentions H8's and that is what everyone seems to be buying. Any comments?

Think of one headlight having 2 lights in it...the H8 goes on the "right", and the H3 goes on the "left". The DRL's come from the H3 and the low beam or actual headlight, are the H8. Someone please correct me or elaborate if i am wrong...

I think the actual headlight (low beam) is not an H8 but instead a HID - D1s.

I'm confused. After I arrived at work yesterday a co-worker texted me that my right rear tail light was burned out. Sure enough, I tested it out and the right rear is inoperable. I won't say burned out because the car is only a year old with 13K miles on it.

I checked the owners manual which says it takes an LED tail light. The picture does not show a tail light in the cluster, but does show a brake light. The code above shows the same code for the tail light and the brake light.

How does the cover come off for access to the light panel?

finally i find this page !! Awesome thanks !

does this apply to the 2011 128i 's ???

Because my fogs i bought are H8 and you guys are saying H11. The fogs work perfect too.

The little light inside the DRL that goes on when i turn on my aftermarket HID's. Thats a 2825 right ? What are those called anyways ?

I've just updated my interior lights in a 2012 E82 in the UK.

I have found the following differences:
Glove box: 39mm festoon 7546F 5W (I replaced it with a 36mm LED but still fit)
Trunk: ??mm festoon K5618 10W 12V (its larger than 39mm but don't have a ruler to hand)

I've seen cars with white blinkers, it's doable.
