That can be done! But not sure IMO how that is better. Just my two cent. By the way the yellow resistor can be easily disconnected without cutting.

I highly recommend drilling a hole in the back cover and using the rubber grommet on the bulb to completely seal out the back cover, its a MUCH better solution than what you have. If you're going to keep your current solution use a lot of silicone around the wires to prevent the headlights from producing condensation.

Drill a 1" hole in the back of the cover, and use the inner part of the grommet on the inside of the cover and the outer smaller part on the outside. I've done this several times before and it gives an amazing seal that won't allow water or anything to get inside!

I am seeing the problem now. Somehow you have to get both ends of the harness into the headlight assembly. I think the only way to do it now is to get a grommet with four (4) wire holes like the example below on the right. Then cut and splice the H8 connector side with some other Weatherpack connectors and we are set.

I think your question brought on the reply. Next time you might want to elaborate a bit more on what you want to know other than "What does this do?".
Now if you are wondering what the entire assembly is it is a HID (Xenon) bulb option for our Angel Eyes. |

How is this different than replacing the angle eyes light bulb to 6500k-8000k ?
That's what I did! is this option much better and worth the extra $$$ because it doesn't look cheap!

your solution is no where as near as bright as an HID ballast / bulb settup. In the day time HIDs looks amazing and ridiculously bright. At night time they're even better and also help light up the road even more

No condensation build up. I was worried at first but maybe I "Notched" it correctly. Happy with my HIDS btw, no code error, and no flickering issues... |

your angel hids look awesome. how are these at night? i really want to buy these but I'm worried that they are too bright at night; i don't want to blind other drivers. i'm trying to decide between these or lux h8 (e82 version coming within the next month).

These look great, I'm with everyone else on worrying about the "notching." Something for me to think over for a little bit before I decide on how I want to whitten up my yellows.

I'm taking the plunge Hopefully mine are on the way. I have done HIDs before in other cars and it's a pretty standard type of install on any car.
Also, my headlights and many others I've seen have fogged up just from washing. I took it to BMW in Germany and they stated that the headlight housing is open to atmosphere by design. The preojector housing is what is enclosed (pressurized). So I really have no fear in this install. As long as care is taken and it's not a hack job install, it will be fine. I'll update with pics and any tips if needed.
