New member here!
So I'm planning on trading in my SUV (that I love, but would rather drive a car now) and the new 3 series or e90, as you guys would put it, is on the top of my short list right now. I've been reading thru the forums for the past 2 weeks and have gotten a lot of good info and insight on the e90. I haven't test driven anything yet, since I'm about 2 or 3 months away from buying. But plan to test soon. Anyways...at first I was liking the Sparkling Graphite, but after seeing the pics the Monaco Blue is growing on me
Ok...I know that there are threads out there based on specific exterior and interior colors, but I'm posting just to get your personal opinion on which is better between two colors: SG or MB. So please post back which you'd choose between the two options only. Oh yeah...I like the terra interior, it's different and I have black interior in my SUV and it gets pretty dusty quickly...But I will have to see the terra in person before I can make a decision. But I think the terra would look good with both the SG and MB. thanks...I hope this wasn't too long for a first post. j/k |

Monaco Blue and Terra is an great combination.
I'd get Monaco over Sparkling Graphite, but that's just because my last car was a metallic gray, so I wanted something different. It is a very nice color.

if you wanted something really sick, you should get the black with terra, but you already stated taht it was between those two options.

Welcome to the boards Natalia. I think a test drive will make up your mind on the e90. I have one on order and I chose the Monaco Blue (with gray interior). I really liked the blue because you get a dark car in lower light conditions, but in bright sunlight you get a beautiful blue with sparkles. Try to see them both in person.

Just be careful when you choose your interior becuase with some leather colours beige/black/grey you will have matching lower dash board/floor carpet/side interior seals plastic part of door etc... where as with tera/lemon the dasboard and other items will be black. This is if you didn't already know this. there fore i would go for one of the 3 colours with every ting matching. sg for exterior definately.

Welcome to the forum! Have you considered the E91? Just wondering, since you have an SUV you might miss the cargo space. The wagon is still a car and will drive just like the E90, but with x-drive and cargo space.
BTW, why do people from Virginia drive so badly? Not trying to be funny or mean.. I'm genuinly curious.

Yeah, a lot of Virginia drivers come through Delaware. They cannont maintain a constant speed! They will blow past you at +10 mph, then get in front of you and slow down so that you have to pass them. They're morons! I use cruise control 90% of the time and these jerks really get on my nerves. They also seem to be very challenged to keep their vehicles between two white lines. Inbreeding I suppose.

Welcome!
To answer your question, just look at my sig... Actually MB would be a great combo with Terra too, so either way you can't go wrong. Good luck on your decision!!

Hi and welcome. Don't worry bad drivers abound everywhere !
Look at my sig and you'll see my preference. I felt the MB too dark for me and the SG has different hue depening on ligntening. It has a slight and nice Plum hue in certain lighting. Welcome.

Welcome to the forum. What else is on your short list beside the e90? One other suggestion, if you have other cars on your short list, I would test drive the other car first then test drive the e90 last. If you do the opposite, I am afraid you will never get to test drive the other cars. I dont think you can go wrong with your two colors combo. I actually seen Terra with Black Saphire and it looks great! good luck.

They are both beautiful colors, but I think we will all see SG in abundance. IMO, SG looks better than Monaco; it seems to have more depth and texture. Don't get me wrong, the MB is also very nice; you get the best of both worlds with it because it looks black at night and has a nice blue color to it in sunlight.
If you would like, we are having a meet in the DC Metro area, specifially Great Falls, and we would love to meet new and potential E90 owners. This way, you can also check out a variety of combos and check them out on a less of a sales basis. Linky.... http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4307 For your interior, go with Terra. It's beautiful! You will not regret it.

I was deciding between SG and Monaco Blue (would've got Mystic blue but they weren't available at the time when I ordered the car). I first look at the SG at night and they seen a little brownish to me, I'm not sure if it's the lightening that's doing it. so I went with the Monaco blue.

My short list includes A4 Audi....my cousin has a 2002 S4 and I liked the drive, but I didn't like the blind spots it had and the dumb cup holder on the dash that blocked the console if a cup was in it. don't know if they changed it on the '05s. Basically, that is all i'm considering at this point. i still haven't test driven anything. I'm about 2 months away before I make a decision, so I have time.
to the poster who suggested the wagon: I would miss the space of my SUV, but i don't really like wagons. After seeing some gray interiors, I've put that on my list along with terra. So after I see terra in person I'll make my final decision on which interior is better. thanks for all the feed back...you guys are great |

Manassas is nice. Most of the really bad VA drivers are in SUV - but of course that can said almost anywhere!
Stew - adaptive cruise would be sweet! But for $2k I'll deal with it.
