Wooow...
I'll have to ask 'em a special price for the cutomers I bring them ! About the price I heard different things. I think it was about 3200€. To be confirmed however, it might be cheaper wether you want a waranty or not. |

OK just got a PDF price list in German... hooray for google language tools! in a nutshell:
Tune (+50HP) = €1800 (AU$2928) Tune + exhaust (to 280HP) = €3200 (AU$5206) Shipping aside, this is about $3k for ~37kW. edit: forgot to mention, we do need to ship our ECU to them. they need about 6 hours with it. |

I see you guys beat me to it. I also received a reply email. $3K is a lot of coin. Dunno if I'd risk it.

Why doesn't someone try the local powerchip reflash? C'mon we need someone willing to try it out for us!
It's half the price, same power gains and you can get in done in melbourne, sydney etc etc not germany! |

edit: given that my target is the 130i's output @ 255HP, the retune alone looks like it will do the trick. But to send my baby's brain half-way around the world |

Powerchip's website says it only brings it up to 174kW / 233HP... unless they can do a full 130i flash that isn't mentioned there?

just did a unit conversion, 50PS is equivalent to 36.78kw which brings our 125i's to 196.78kw which is freakn awesome, although $3k is ALOT of money. Why cant australian tuners bring us the same POWER

I received an email from the company chylld with the same info. Just out of curiosity I emailed and told them initially it was too expensive for my budget and asked if they would reduce the price if there were multiple people interested. Waiting back on the email

Was going through e90 post, found this interesting thread http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...=37444&page=30 One of the guys there is installing a 3 stage intake from a 330i into a 325i. Looks like he is almost about to start the installation ie.according to pages 29-30. Looks promising |

I just read this (don't read the whole thing, start at page 25ish). Looks really promising. I think it's gonna work. Two questions though: (1) how about for a 128i or 328i? and (2) warranty??

well for us aussies i reckon we would need to get the manifold of the 130i and install it, i dont think you would have a warranty left though. I read some where on that thread that the 328i guys would probably have to get their manifold from the x3 but not entirely sure about that

It is Euro speced N52 engine same as in X3/330i.
I don't think dealers sell them in this variant (but some tuners might have access to that). It's stock engine with very minor ECU map optimization (higher revs up to 7500 RPM) to accomodate replaced intake and straight tube exhaust system. Most of European BMW tuners offered to do it, so I think it's not big problem. I tried manual 130i (hatchback) before, so I exactly wished similar engine capability with coupe and automatic transmission. It does easy below 6.0 s 0-100 km/h and goes slightly better with traction control off. Engine revs very smoothly and has lot of power in 5000-7000 range. Bastuck develops excellent sound and attracts lot of attention among street racers, although I don't drive like crazy (just imagine their faces when 6' tall blonde exits the car ) Exhaust, intake and ECU works costed something like 2200 Eur (3000 $) and factory upgrade on engine side was something like 1000 Eur (this is not option in price-list or by dealers, it was one of kind favor done by tuning company). Car has full warranty and I would never touch anything else under hood. Hope this helped. |
