1m History Check - Anyone from here?

I saw a beautiful low mileage 1m for sale in Portland OR.

Anyone know the history or maybe the previous owner a member of the forum?

http://www.grandprimotors.com/detail...-MTgyOQ==.html

Priced at 62k, its up there but one of the lowest mileage 1M I have seen for sale.

Thanks in advance!

If you click on the v.i.n. on the dealer ad, it takes you to the Carfax report. The last entry on the report says it was sold at an auction. I would be curious why this car would have been taken to the auction. Not a good sign.

I saw the auction sale in the report and that raised some red flags. Any good reason why this car might have been sold to auction?

I'm thinking about going to see this car tomorrow and will report back

Im guessing there was a chance at a higher payout from auction if two bidders got in a bidding war. Could also be some trouble with the cars history. (Heres a wrecked 1M that looks super clean for example: http://www.carwashcarsinc.com/2011_B..._181792282.veh ) still surprised no one has picked that car up yet.

don't worry about the auction history....MOST 2nd hand cars and trade ins go through that process if the dealer who takes a trade in decides to go that route.

That's very funny, as I bought an identical car (#162 of 740) from GP two months ago. Paid a premium price, as it only had 1300 miles on it. Maybe they've got a secret stash of 1Ms?

I'll look forward to seeing it on the street.

Wow, that's amazing that they have had two low mileage 1M in such a short period of time.

Did you come down to PDX to take a look? What are your thoughts? Looks much more promising than the white one at Carmax.

I didn't get a chance to see the GP car. I'm thinking to give them a call tomorrow to see where there are at in terms of pricing.

Re. the auction, car dealers use it to move cars they took in on a trade, but are unlikely to sell quickly, or that don't fit their demographic.

Your Chevy used-car dealer, for example, is unlikely to attract buyers for a Porsche, so he might use the auction to get move a Porsche that he took in trade on a Vette.
