Calling UK owners - Questions

Hello!
New to the fold so go easy.

I pick up a VO 1M next week and wondered whether the UK owners could recommend any insurance companies?

Are there any local UK forums that I've missed?

Welcome aboard Mark.

UK forums are a bit thin on the ground for the 1M and I've found the best information tends to be on here.

As for insurance, I used to use Need to Insure for my modified RS to make sure it was properly covered. For the 1M though they were too expensive and as I don't intend to tune it I've kept with one of the mainstream insurance companies.

As the 1M is holding its price very well I was a bit worried about the max payout of 40k but that's increased to 75k now so all bases seem to be covered.

I guess I'm old though and have loads of no claims with a good history of high performance cars.

FYI I've made sure the latest security software has been installed and also use a disklok for added security.

If you're standard and intend to stay that way, look at the mainstream companies using a typical price comparison site. If you're modde or intend to in the future, I'd exxplore one of the specialists such as Adrian Flux, Sky or Need to Insure to name a few.

Good luck with the imminent arrival.

Great Advice, thank you.

I'll start with the comparison sites first. My no-claims is on another car so might be a challenge...

I had a quote through the go compare website just the other day.

Cheapest quote that came back was £351. That was with Hastings direct.

I'm 36 with 10 years NCD. Standard 1M (for the time being).

I got some low insurance quotes at the time of my 1M purchase, quite surprising TBH.

I guess a UK specific 1M forum wouldn't be exactly busy, with only 380-odd UK cars registered it wouldn't be a very active place.

Must start posting and stop lurking!
