Michelin PSS = magnet for nails?
i have had so many nails embedded in my 1M's rear PSS tires since i've owned it. Had a knife enter the rear driver side in the summer.....had another nail removed last month from the passenger rear....and now i have another nail in the driver side rear again....this time near the sidewall! not sure if i will need a whole new tire yet or if i can get it repaired.
do you guys think the PSS are more proned to nails?? due to their softness? Am pretty annoyed by this....have lived in NYC for 8 years and never owned a car which attracted so many nails as this one does....i think it's the tire compound. |

I found out that I had a nail in one of my front PSS two days ago...I bought these tires a month and a half ago.
To be fair though, my Dunlop D1 Star Specs were the same way. Maybe I should stop trying to apex highway exit ramps? |

I've had ~7 sets of PSS and pickup up two nails. So they have been pretty robust overall, certainly not in the same league as something sticky. I do try to avoid driving over crap, though there isn't much you can do when it rains...

Because unless you go an hour north of the city the most fun you can have in NYC is taking a cloverleaf quickly.
And come on. Look at what you drive. Why wouldn't you apex everything. Damn that blipshift tagline is catchy. |

Had to plug mine myself earlier today. Took it Discount Tire where I bought them and they wouldn't repair it. They didn't like how my asymmetric wear due to my camber and the nail and screw hole were a few inches away from each other. Going to go to the basement and see if I'm losing pressure in a few mins.

7 sets!! You must put on a lot of miles or have poor tolerance for any performance drop off.

I've had mine for a year or two with no nails despite a major rennovation going on the house. My wife ruined a stock run flat. I don't think they're especially prone to nails.
