SCCA D-Street wheel clarification, unstaggering?
Okay knowing it will never be seriously competitive in D-Street... Is it legal to go 17x7.5 square on a 128i?
I figured that the oe wheel sizes were staggered 17x7F and 17x7.5R but there was an option for 18x7.5F and 18x8.5R. Based on how I read the rules it looks to me like 17x7.5 square could be class legal? I just figured for a casual autox car this year I'd like to be able to rotate tires while on 225/45/17s. Thanks! |

Would not be class legal as the car was never sold with a 7.5" square setup, can't mix and match widths from different options do get a desired result.
But with how outgunned the car would be in DS I can't imagine anyone caring especially if you just run regionally. If someone thinks a 7.5" square setup is why a 128i beat their Civic Type R or GR86 you could just come back with a fully legal 17x7 square setup and beat them again. |
