I don't know how you're coming to this conclusion.

I'm on the 3rd highest setting for VAC side mounts, VAC floor plates and slides on Recaro SPGs and still VERY low than OEM seats

With my stock seat setup my helmet never touched the roof. After I race seats installed it did. It's been adjusted so it no longer does, but to me it still feels higher than stock.

Yes I sat in your car at one of the meets and your setup definitely has you sitting higher. I'd take the sliders out if you want to sit lower for sure

Also, the cushions on your seats seemed very thick; maybe they sell ones that are thinner?

My setup is VAC floor mount, VAC slider, VAC side mounts, with Cobra Suzuka Pro-fit with mid level seat base cushions for those that are interested. Cobra does offer both a thicker and thinner base cushion.

My side mounts are oriented 4 slots in front and 3 in the back. Seat is on the 3rd from bottom in front and middle slot in rear. With the side mounts in this orientation my seat is 3/4" lower than with the 3 slots up front and 4 in rear.

Thanks for the response, even if I'm reading it a bit late In fact your review sounds good. I'm trying to decide of an alternative of Recaro PP which are the lightest but the raciest looking seats for our rides !

Help. I just ordered a sparco sprint 5 seat. For a fix mount, I can just use their sparco mount? Also it's just the driver side so will the airbag light go off still?

Have you looked into the VAC mounts?

Not yet. What about coding the air bag light for just the driver side. Is that possible?

I'm starting off with the planted mount and a Sparco Fighter. Maybe I'll figure something else out along the way, but spending $850 to mount two seats (VAC) is insane.

I had alex@alpinems code my airbags when I did the race seat install. He does remote coding.

These are the best and easiest to install fixed mounts available. Used with the VAC adapters, you should have no issues installing a seat.
