Yeah that was a one off and it wasn't made by plazmaman, it was one of their cores that Greg had fitted to a 135i
It was a terrible fitment, the bumper bar was all chopped so where the grills |

Unless your going to run stock boost don't waste your money
get a Evo comp 2 unless your going to upgrade your turbos then you going to need something bigger |

The Competition 2 Evo needs the rad support cut and also the lower guide/undertray rib cut. It's a bit of hack job on a 1M to do that. You can avoid the radiator support cutting if you space the cooler rearwards with custom brackets, but it's not a great fit. Logs from a guy running a tune (20 peak/14 ish taper) on the performance 1 show peak intake temps of about 50*C after pulling through 1-2-3-4 and before 4th they aren't really moving much over 30. It seems fine for stock turbos running no more than 1 bar of boost at redline. Last edited by T1M; 04-14-2017 at 09:12 PM.. |

With the evo comp 2 there is no bumper bar cutting at all, if you ever had the front end completely off the radiator support is separate to the front apron as the radiator sits on steel brackets and is held in place with two rubber grommet screws from the top, the only trimming you do is to the apron
I have fitted a number of these and the only mod you might have to do to the rib is using a heat gun to warm up and push it up if it hangs to low. Cutting is for butchers You have to relocate the front temp sensor cut the plastic that held it in place and trim the air guide or leave it out Its quite involved to do it correctly but by no means a hack job if done right. Great IC for stock turbos but struggles with upgraded ones or in high ambient temps. Last edited by martymil; 04-14-2017 at 08:49 PM.. |

I'll be doing one next week or so I'll post up exactly what has to be cut with detailed pics
Radiator support doesn't get cut either your mistaking the apron for radiator support. The radiator sits on two metal support brackets. its all good, common mistake Last edited by martymil; 04-14-2017 at 09:19 PM.. |

If you pull the bumper off it can be done neatly.
Install the tray and bolt it up, it will hang a bit low. Leave the front three screws loose of the tray that bolt up to the rib Now get a heat gun and heat the support rib but be careful not to heat up the bar and using a rag so you don't burn yourself push up to flatten the rib a bit |

So after mentioning that the Wagner Perf 1 does in fact require trimming, are there any IC's that do not require any trimming or cutting?
I'm not so keen on messing around with that on this car, too special to me, even if its hidden away behind the bumper and unnoticeable. |

A replacement apron is only 300 dollars I wouldn't worry about cutting it
It can be replaced in about an 1 hr |

There is no FMIC worth mentioning if your not going to cut, might as well stick with the stock unit
here is the only part you need to cut and its easily replaced https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/51647193193/ |
