Shawndoe - put that sucker up for sale on eBay, surely someone will buy it and I think we'd all like to know what its true value is.

Well I finally got mine today. It's #07162. I'll called last week and told them I hadn't received mine so I don't know if this is in response to that or not. It'd be a pretty quick turn around time if it is...

I got my Commemorative Book & Certificate today...that's the good news...now the bad...

My certificate number is 6950 I just noted in an above post someone took delivery 06-08 on a 05-08 build 135i Coupe with # 5663. So much for what BMWNA had told me...that they were VIN specific...now we know that is not the case.

I guess I'll give a few people a call ASAP just to let them know their promotion isn't working too well:bs:I'm thinking of burning the damn thing At this point it means zero to me.

New here, and just seeing this thread. Love both cars, but my first thought after reading the options list on both cars...

CA - can one key be programmed for both cars? that would be really nice, talk about comfort...

To the best of our knowledge, the book and cert are only for first year '08 cars......."The Year Of the One"

In one of the other threads someone stated, that all 1-ers until Feb 09 will be "Year one of the 1". I got my 09 135 and it does have the engraved ring also. I'd be surprised if they did the engraving and didn't send the book. But maybe that's just my wishful thinking.

I guess it's just too early, but some 128 owners that didn't get stuck in the port because of the EPA may already have the book.

I picked my car in July and I still haven't received a book yet. I emailed bmw and here is the response:

Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding the status of your Year One of the One Commemorative Book. I was sorry to hear that you have not received any information.

It appears that your in service date established by the BMW Center is 10/06/2008. The Book is usually received 2 months from that date.

If you have any further questions, please reply to this e-mail or contact the Customer Relations and Services Department at 1-800-831-1117, Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M., Eastern Standard Time. Again, thank you for contacting BMW.

What should I do now?

Give them a call. I received the book last Friday, 1 day short of 2 months after delivery. I would be more concerned as to why your in service date is 2 1/2 months after delivery. Does this get you an extra 2 1/2 months warranty as well?

Well, I had picked it up at the Welt on 1st Aug. So technically, I got the book just 2 months after "delivery" - like most other people. But my car sat at the dock for 5 weeks , so it got here after the book
