I received my Year One of the 1 Commemorative Edition hard cover book today. Pretty cool looking. and it only took about 1 month after purchase for it to arrive.

I received my Year 1 of the 1 Book yesterday and it is AWESOME! Mad props to BMW for giving out such a nice addition to the car. This was my first ever new car so I am continuing to be impressed with BMW! Ordered in August, received in October, so about a month and a half after delivery for the book, for those wondering.

I sent an e-mail to BMWUSA, and they responded accordingly:

"Thank you for contacting BMW of North America, LLC regarding the status of your commemorative Year One of the One BMW 135i Convertible. The Year One of the One 1 Series will build through the end of February 2009.

I believe if you purchased a oner this year (regardless of whether it was ordered or out of dealer stock) you should get a book. It's triggered when the dealership sends in the details of the sale, IIRC. One of our resident CAs should chime in here.

Got mine about 2 weeks I guess...what a cool touch! I immediately sat down and read all of it.

Earlier this week I got another note from the post office that I have something from BMW waiting for me. I was telling my wife how BMW/MINI's marketing really makes you feel like you're part of a special club. When I got the GP I got lots of really cool stuff and same goes for the 1.

Not to knock on Volvo too much but when we got my wife's car we were kind of expecting a similar sort of 'you're part of a small group of C30 owners' kit but so far nothing.

Kinda dissapointing given the car's unique look and feel and that we've only seen maybe 2 or 3 other C30s in DFW since we got it in April.

How awesome is this!! On the last day of 08 I got my "Year One Of The 1" book!! It is really nice and worth the wait!!

This may also be regardless of whether or not it was an '08 or an '09 as long as you received your 1 in 2008. I've been told I should receive my commemorative materials by 2/11/2009.

You get a book if you order a 1er before 2/28/09. That is the official date.
