As to the GPS tangential thread, we have to do something for the next 2 weeks, don't we?

Have a great week.

yeah 2 to 3 weeks is a long time...and like I said before I am more at the mercy of the stock market (especially oil stock) if they tank...then KIA here I come then maybe I can get a Magellan to go with it?

That was the most interesting site I've seen in a while. What an amazing salvage operation! What would be cool would be to see a PBS documentary on this. I wonder if this was documented on video?

Until around May 5th, when the Jupiter Diamond should be around the Panama Canal approach, we won't know anything.

Unless, USAF, you have a buddy with a Hughey who will fly us over the Atlantic and Caribbean and help us look for the Jupiter Diamond... LOL

Hey larry,
how long do you calculate until we should be able to get info again? For example, when it hits the PC.

Remember the thread I started asking how long it takes to get to the Panama Canal, someone answered and said it takes about 12 to 15 days.

So, I added 12 to the date the Jupiter Diamond left port and will start checking the Panama Canal site then. That's starting this coming Friday.

I'll let you know what I find.

OK, so I lied: I DO have more information for us:

Straight from the horse's mouth: NYK

The Jupiter Diamond arrives at the Panama Canal on Saturday, May 6th, and has a time slot to transit the Canal on Sunday, May 7th.

So, boys and girls, our new toys are almost rounding the bend on their way to us.

Not sure if the Jupiter Diamond is stopping at San Diego like the Cassiopeia Leader. I don't think it is because the San Diego Port listing already shows the Cassiopeia being in San Diego on the 16th. It is actually possible that if the Jupiter goes directly to Oxnard that we may beat the Cassiopeia and arrive first.

I'll try to get a picture of the satellite map showing the Jupiter Diamond transitting the Canal this weekend and will post them here.

Larry

Guys,

General question. How long does the trip typically take on California bound ships? BMW NA tells me 30 days. Can anyone confirm, shorter or longer?

Thanks!

3 to 4 weeks, depending on weather. Your dealer will tell you 10 weeks from date of order for California. It can take as little as 8.

My car is finishing production on May 4th. You guys think it will make it to Bremerhaven by the 5th for the Ryujin? Any other California bound ships departing shortly after the 4th.

Thanks for the help!

Unlikely you will be on a ship in 24 hours. NYK ships are leaving May 5th, 6th, 14th, 20th, and 25th of May for California. My guess is you'll be on the Hual Seoul leaving May 14th.
