ignition coil cover, black vs silver

Our black ignition cover is part number 11 12 7 575 032.
A silver cover is 11 12 7 531 324 and is used on many N52's such as E87, E60's and Z4 family.
Does anyone know why a silver cover would not fit on our E82's?

I'll wager the only difference is the insulation on the underside.

See if you can find a salvage yard with one. Should be pretty cheap.

I imagine it would fit the N52 1ers. N54 cover is the same shape but VC mounting bolts are different.

Update

The black cover on our E82's have 4 mounting points: 2 in front of and on either side of BMW emblem. 2 at the rear of cover, 1 in the center and the other at far left rear corner.
The silver cover I've seen has 5 mounting points: 3 drivers side and 2 passenger side and all 5 more in the center of the cover.
So, if you wanted to use the silver cover, you would have to remove the 5 female pieces and reattach onto our engines, if at all easily done.
I may try it.
